This made me mad...Was I right to snap on him?

I was at my boyfriend's house and his step-brother who's 21 was with us. Their dog came in the room and the step-brother started playing with her which I didn't really see a problem with since lots of people play with their dogs (or at least should). Then he turned to my boyfriend and was like 'You know what I really feel like doing right now?' He said no so then his brother goes 'I feel like taking her out back and beating the sh** out of her because whatever doesn't kill her will only make her stronger.' Apparently since she's a rott/boxer mix he thought he had the right to do this since both breeds are big tough dogs...So I was like 'I swear on the bible if you do that then I will tell my dad (who is a police officer) so fast you won't even have the chance to say sh** one last time before they haul your a** back to jail!' Then he looked at my boyfriend and went 'SOMEONE can't take a joke...' At which I promptly told him that I find nothing funny about beating a dog (or any animal for that matter) just to make it 'stronger' and that if he even so much as thought about doing that again then I would take HIM out back and beat him and see if it made him any stronger.

This step-brother also happened to beat his ex-girlfriend when they fought and also does pot and has been to jail at least once...

if he was going to do that, he shouldnt, thats just plain wrong and anyone knows that. Beating a dog could kill it or injure. Or it could make it agressive. Some rottis are know for agression but thats because of their owners not treating them right or its in their gene pool. I wouldnt think he was joking either if he beat up his gf. Just keep an eye on that pooch [:)]

Yes you were right.  Stupid f**** people....

You had every right to snap on him. I know I would have. There's nothing funny about abusing dogs.

What an idoit...some people have no brains in thier head!!
    • Gold Top Dog
You were absolutely, 100% right.  Aggressive people can produce aggressive dogs, and with all the media hype about "viscious dogs" thats the last thing we need going on.

PLEASE, keep an eye on this dog.  The poor thing could be leading a life of abuse, and if so, I feel very sad for this dog, and even sad for his owner for possessing such ignorance.

If it was my house, he would have been thrown out right there.  I do not take lightly any threat of abuse upon any animal.

How wrong is that??? I think you were nicer about it than I would have been. I'm glad you stood up for the pup!
    • Gold Top Dog
You were definitely nicer than I would have been! Keep an eye on this idiot and make sure he doesn't do anything of the sort.

I'm just curious, what does your boyfriend think of all this?  Honestly, if he's laughing and thinks that's funny, GET AWAY NOW!
    • Gold Top Dog
I don't consider that joke at all and he would have been kicked out of my house for saying stuff like that. Plus knowing what he does to his girlfriend I wouldn't even consider that a joke. You have every right to go off on him for saying something like that.

    ditto

and i wouldn't have been so nice either. i had guests over once and it was pouring down outside when one of them asked me if i could put anassa out because she was being annoying, i told them that they were very welcome to go out in the rain if they liked but nass was staying inside her house.

another time someone gave nass a smack on the face because she jumped on their couch, i won't even repeat what i said to him but i can assure you it wasn't nice [;)]

I seriously gotta print out this page and show it to him or something... The way he freaked out on me you would thought I just threatened to kill his mother or something.

I don't think there's any chance of that dog turning mean. She may be a Rott but I don't think she knows it. She thinks she more cuddle-buddy, which sucks because in the summer she smells bad from swimming in their pond, and she weighs well over 100 pounds. But anyway you better bet I'm gonna be watching that dog, and him, closely. He already knows I don't like him and that I won't hesitate on calling the police on him if he messes up again.

As for my boyfriend he didn't laugh, but didn't snap at him like I did either. I talked to him about it later and yelled at him for not saying something to his brother. He says he didn't say anything cause his brother is the only one in the house that he can stand. We got in a huge fight over that...

Anyway, I probably would have gotten up and punched him in the face if my ankle weren't screwed up at the time...Thinking about it now though he probably would have hit me back...

How  would he like it if i went over there & beat the shit out of him MAY I ADD, for no reason!!!!!

Actually, I would have told him the same thing you did, with my face inches from his face, hopefully with garlic on my breath so that he could flinch with every other word and stare him down. And your bf should not tolerate his bullying. I certainly wouldn't.
