There's a thread on another forum about this site. I think the general consensus was that it had to be a poorly put together joke site. Their gallery was full of pictures of kids and pits playing and cuddling. I know a lot of people e-mailed him and those pics are gone now, so maybe he wasn't trying to be funny. If this site is for real it's full of flat out wrong information.

That's either intellegent sarcasm or complete and total ignorance.  Sadly, over the internet, it's hard to tell which is which. 

The sad thing is that a lot of ignorant people could be influenced by this. They had a bunch of Diane Jessup's dogs on there which is BS, that is stealing copywritten pics!

Wether the site is a joke or not, its horrible. That right there is how bullys get their bad reps. At my work, A husben wife and their daughter brought in their dog for daycare.They were talking about how they got her from a pound 2 years ago and what a good dog she is, and how gentle she is with their daughter, then when they were filling out the form, they asked me "What do we put for breed, because no one told us what kind she is"  She was a bully type, I said "She looks like a Staffordshire bull terrier mix" and the mother said "Oh I think I heard of them, arn't they retrievers?" She was anything BUT a retriever lol, I said "No, it is sort of like a 'Pit bull" type dog" Trying to put it as simple as possible, becuase obviously they didn't know much about breeds. Instantly after I had said that the woman gives me a horrified look, and goes and picks up her daughter who was sitting on the floor petting the dog, and the dog was giving her one of those tounge baths. I explained what good dogs they are and how they're rep as being "vicious" isn't true, but she was always watching her dog with a worried look the whole day, the great dog that they had been bragging about. Now the woman was acting like she was a monster. [:@][>:]

Any un-suspecting first time dog owner would believe this sadly. But what is there to do about it?

That's about BS!  From the mouth of a police officer I can tell you that many of the people that keep pit bulls (for illegal dog fighting, etc) would LOVE to think that their dog knows the police from other people.  About as close to that ridiculous statement as you can come is that many dogs, be it a pit, a yorkie, a golden or a rottie don't like uniforms... Police officers have lots of equipment on, hats, things swinging from their belts and in their hands, as well as a human voice coming from a black box at the same time the stranger in uniform is talking.  All pretty intimidating, scary stuff for a dog!  I've been in many homes containing a variety of dogs and have never been bit.  I've walked in yards containing fighting pits that never attacked (their adversity is to other dogs, generally not to people) - you don't threaten them, they don't threaten you.  I have to say, my dogs are 100% smarter than 95% of the people I've met in the last 19 yrs on the job!

Gypsy LOVES police officers.  I work for the city (I am at the library) and am at the public safety building in an official capacity as well as unofficial (I volunteer at the shelter) many times a week.  The officers go out of their way to stop and talk with us. Gypsy almost folds herself in half trying to get them to pet her BEFORE they talk to me! They all know her and all love her. To top it all off, her manners are much better than our K9 and SHE has never bitten a police officer (guess which dog in the public safety building HAS bitten an  offiicer?).

The admin for the site listed above is a card-carrying, certified MORON.

Did anyone read the link to the officer that got 'attacked'? They guy got a SCRATCH ON HIS ARM!!!!! I really think this is just a big joke but its a sick joke because an unknowing person can be turned off pit bulls for life. What a bunch of sickos

Sadly this is what the general media wants to see.  This guy/gal will likely have 15 minutes of fame on "Nightline" or "Geraldo."

ETA: Okay I thought of something.  This person is exactly what they describe for being so INGNORANT... horrible, terrible person who most likely steriotypes LARGE groups of people just the same.  IDIOT.

Maybe it's "Betsy Perkins" site LOL.  She's over at ourdogsonline spreading the same crap about Pits that she did here.  She's already been banned at many other forums...
The ignorance that spawns sites like this is the same mentality that made the Nazis ok with killing Jews IMHO.  No breed, no race, is responsible for all ills.  That boils down to individuals, both canine and human.
