    PETA-Death To All Pitbulls

I am amazed that people actually support this orginization!

PETA - Death To All PitBulls
PETA's Angel Of Death routine may shock the uninformed, but there are those on the front lines of saving dogs that already have PETA's number - I'm talking about pitbull  owners and those in the No Kill movement.
That's because if you own a pitbull (like me) , love a pitbull (like me),  or rescue or rescued a pitbull (like me), you already know PETA's official stance on pitbulls   - which is, according to fearless leader Ingrid Newkirk  - that pitbulls are better off dead.
What's that? You DIDN'T already know PETA's position on pitbulls?  Then let me enlighten you - my pitbull loving friends - and share with you Ingrid Newkirk's "kind words" about pitbulls...............
    [blockquote]
"Those who argue against a breeding ban and the shelter euthanasia policy for pit bulls are naive", and
"People who genuinely care about dogs won't be affected by a ban on pit- bull breeding. They can go to the shelter and save one of the countless other breeds and lovable mutts sitting on death row".
[linkIngrid>http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2005/06/08/EDGDLD4G1S1.DTL]Ingrid Newkirk, in the San Francisco Chronicle in June 8, 2005.[/link][/blockquote]
Let there be no doubt that PETA not only fully supports euthanizing pitbulls in shelters, but also supports completely wiping the breed from the face of the earth through a breeding ban, breed bans, and breed-specific mandatory spay neuter laws.  It's called breed extermination.
And that, Ingrid, makes it personal. Real personal.

Not surprising since PETA seems set on eliminating all pets from all homes across the world.  It's been stated before by PETAs president and following that they do not believe in keeping any pets under our care.  Eliminating the pitbull would be one step closer to their goal.  They seem quite happy to stop breeding to the point that entire breeds or even species of pets and livestock cease to exist.

That is sick.  I'm sorry but that pisses me off that people are so narrow minded.  How is being dead better?  I have two pitties and I hate the day that someone tells me that I cannot have them anymore.  Those people will be escorted off my property at gun-point if need be.  I'm not going to have that.  These are my dogs and members of my family.  The thing that makes this story worse, IMO, is these idiots were only a few hours from my home town.

PETA has never received a nickel of my money. I despise this organization--have for YEARS.

I wish  I could say  I was stunned to read that was their position but I'm not.  I have positively no use for that organization.  I think they suck supporters in with their nice sounding name but I think (or rather, I hope) if most people took the few seconds to find out what they're REALLY all about, they would divert their dollars to organizations that actually DO like animals.  If only they actually got to know a few pit bulls and saw what awesome dogs they really can be, perhaps they'd revolt against this BS (and no, I don't mean 'breed specific' here) that's been going on.

You responsible pit owners have my sympathy and my support.  It terrifies me with all of this BSL and these AR orgs who seem to have FAR too much power....your breed's being attacked now, having mals I'm not real far down the 'list'.

And, I hope HSUS doesn't get any either, now that Wayne P. from PETA is connected with them.

I didnt know anything about PETA until the whole thing came up with them euthanizing the dogs they took from shelters & dumping the bodies in dumpesters.

    Then I heard about this.

I wish the people who support them would realize they are NOT a humane organization in any shape or fashion. One of my boyfriend's friends and I had an argument one day, he was talking about how great they were then I told him about them killing the animals they took out of shelters immediatly after they got them, he didnt believe me...

I think they do nice things for farm animals and animals used for meat, but they obvoiusly could give a care less about domestic animals

And just FYI, PETA wishes for the death of ALL animals not just pit bulls. They feel animals should not be owned.

I'm no more surprised by this than by anything else they've done or supported over the years. I've come to learn a long time ago that the "brains" behind PETA only have causes but no real brains or hearts. They don't think about what they say or do before they do them. They have followers who are just looking for a cause and leaders who just are looking for power just like many power-hungy leaders. They just put an environmental face on it and call it "just".

This doesn't surprise me at all....standard tactics.

Yes, PETA thinks animals should not be owned and yes they want to eradicate pets. Can you imagine the uproar if this article were about Labs, or Pugs, or Poodles? The world would be in a complete tizzy and they would see PETA for what they really are. It's a very clever tactic, and much safer, to hit out first at a breed that already has opposition from non-PETA groups. It lends credibility to PETA's quest, because they can claim they aren't the only ones who want this breed gone.

Then when pitbulls are gone, they can move on to the next dangerous breed, saying "look how well it worked with Pits? Look how much more peaceful things are now?"

    Edit for clarity.

Unfortunatley I don't think this is what will be said.  I think it will be more along the lines of, "Well the Pit Bull ban didn't work that must mean man is not capable of owning dogs in general... please line up for your needles everyone."

I usually don't pay much attention to what PETA has to say because it is mostly for shock value but I had no idea that they were so anti-pit bull. Honestly, this does surprise me! How long has this been going on? Maybe I am the only one clueless on this!

Not sure, but is the HSUS the Humane Society?  If it is, it's a shame that they're now linked to PETA.

I couldn't believe their arrogance.  I received an email from them a while back with the usual BS, asking me to join and make a donation.  Angry   Yeah, right!

Unfortunately though, I think that the Hollywood crowd supports them big time!  They sound like they save lives, do good things for animals, and they'll never disclose their views about "owning" pets.  They're extremely deceptive and mislead people.
