Ask AT&T to Stop Torturing Animals

Every other national animal protection organization including The Humane Society of the United States, is working to put an end to the rodeo—an abusive spectacle that has no place in a civilized society.

Rodeo promoters say that the animals are wild and rough, but without the use of spurs, tail-twisting, and bucking straps cinched tightly around their abdomen and groin, these frightened and often docile animals wouldn't even buck. They are terrorized into action when men shove electric prods into them, twist their necks, yank them by their tails or legs, slam them to the ground, or otherwise batter them. The fact that most of these innocent animals are eventually destined for the slaughterhouse in no way justifies compounding their agony along the way.

You're right, I am anti Animal Rights.  But I'm Pro Animal Welfare.

The term "Animal Rights" is so misleading.  Dogs have a right to food, shelter, water, and humane treatment, but after that, the rights end, and good animal husbandry and welfare kicks in.

I agree.  Animal Rights has become a loaded concept.  "Feminism" also comes to mind.  I'm all for equal rights and opportunities for men and women, but I don't really consider myself a feminist b/c I don't believe that women deserve special treatment just because they're women.  I guess I'm the same with animals.  Animals do have basic rights as you have posted, and people do to.  But it's sad that most animals in this country have more rights and receive better treatment than a lot of people in other parts of the world.  I won't go to rodeos or defend them, but as far as picking my battles, rodeos isn't one of them.

I dont think Rodeo horses are treated all that bad. Many horse buck simply because they do not want to be ridden and when thier rider falls off then are instantly rewarded so they will repeat this action every time. Bucking is perfeclty natural to a horse many do it every day becuse the are hyper or feel good, or may be something spooked them.

Tho some animals suffer horrors like Bucking straps and the such many of them need no encouragement at all to buck, even world champion Dressage stallions do it occansionaly.

But anyways Animal Abuse is wrong and I dont support it.
