not to put a bee in anyone's bonnet . but animals are auctioned all the time, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, birds.... yes they are live stock for the most part, but the horses would be the most difficult case since some people buy ponies and horses for their kids this way. Horse traders are like any other salesman. you must go with a friend if you want a wise purchase at an auction. look the animals over good. my mom almost bought a totally blind horse. The seller knew and even said the horse was blind in one, but our friend said he was losing vision in the other, quite obviously so....
i dont condone it, but i'm point out it happens a lot. no it doesnt make it right either.. but i dont see a reason to be all that surprised it would happen to dogs too, as well as any other animal. people are far too superficial these days to view animals as much more than property or objects worth money. just shows the state of the world.
Granted however.... MOST people who go to horse auctions already recognise there is a risk in buying an animal you know nothing about.. which is why most people walk around and look at the animals up close before they go up on the block. I know about live stock auctions and how they are run, but i havent got a clue how one would run a dog auction.... they dont do that sort of thing in my neck of the woods.
