Latest Update Tammy Grimes

Lets make this international....Get the  word out  Doogie is doing better.Update  email with new video links. As the story continues to unfold regarding Tammy Grimes' saving a dog named
Doogie, it is good to have direct input from Tammy herself.

Below is her personal update, along with the earlier information regarding
this situation.

----------------------------------------------------------

No, Doogie is not dead, and as a matter of fact, I heard yesterday that he
is doing SO much better than I could have ever expected! This lights me up
inside...that not only did I save him from a horrible death only to give him
a more peaceful death, but it looks like even possibly a little more time on
this earth, during which he will be loved and cared for as he deserves to
be. I myself have not seen him, but am thrilled to hear this news.

Please tell everyone I am updating the Doogie page daily, except I will be
out of town this weekend, with further updates in video format going up on
you tube as well, in a further effort to get the word out about taking
action. Here's the link to the Doogie page for everyone to see. We had the
wrong name for the D.A., but I think it's right now.
[linkhttp://www.dogsdeservebetter.org/doogie.html]http://www.dogsdeservebetter.org/doogie.html [/link]

Also, please tell EVERYONE that their efforts ARE paying off. The local
media are still biased, and today printed a headline "Dogs Deserve Better
member leaves group over arrest" with not a mention of all the thousands who
are still supporting and quite vocally. We need to keep up the pressure on
local media until they start to print something GOOD about us on occasion. I
feel it's crucial to keep up the pressure on local law enforcement, as well
as the DA. Let them know we are strong, united, and not going to take this
lying down, as Doogie had to do.

Also, anyone who can come to the rally on Thursday, September 21, 11:00 a.m.
in Hollidaysburg, PA on the courthouse steps, this is greatly appreciated
and needed. We need that rally to fill the whole town! Even my father will
be leading the invocation for the rally, which I find amazing.

Keep it up! It's working...at the very minimum, we can make them as
miserable as they are making us and they made Doogie. That is a small amount
of justice no matter what else happens.

District Justices Ormsby and Aigner, Freedom Township Police, CP Humane
Society:

People within your community and beyond are dismayed about the arrest of
Tammy Grimes, founder of Dogs Deserve Better and a respected advocate for
animal protection.

On September 11, 2006 a dog appeared dead at the end of his chain in Steve
and Lori Arnold's backyard in East Freedom, Pennsylvania. Too weak to lift
his head, the German Shepherd-Black Labrador mix trembled against the cold
mud, unable to rise. Neighbor Kim Eicher claims the dog had been
non-ambulatory since September 9, the same day she began calling the Central
Pennsylvania Humane Society (CPHS).

When no humane investigators had shown up by Monday, Eicher reported the
dog's worsening state to Grimes. A second concerned citizen also called
Grimes, who joined Eicher to observe the dog and speak to his caretakers.
But the Arnolds were not home and humane officials were still unavailable.

Grimes made a responsible decision to seek prompt medical aid for the dog
she calls Doogie. According to the veterinarian's notes, Doogie was
underweight, with sores, bald spots, and painful back spurs that left him
unable to walk. X-rays revealed a mass on Doogie's back and hips. The
veterinarian injected Doogie with pain medication and B vitamins to ease his
suffering.

An animal doesn't deteriorate this rapidly over 72 hours. Doogie's physical
state indicates ongoing neglect. Where were the Arnolds, who now cry theft
and demand the return of their dog "Jake?" Why did they let their dog
languish on the ground?

Yes, Tammy Grimes allegedly removed "property" from the Arnold's backyard.
But that breathing property constitutes a life protected under Title 18.
Crimes and Offenses; 5511.Cruelty to Animals: "(1) A person commits [a
summary] an offense if he wantonly or cruelly... neglects any animals as to
which he has a duty or care... or deprives any animal of necessary
sustenance, drink, shelter or veterinary care, or access to clean and
sanitary shelter which will protect the animal against inclement weather and
preserve the animal's body heat and keep it dry."

Please charge the Arnolds with cruelty to animals. If convicted, I urge you
to prohibit their "ownership, possession, control or custody of animals..."
The Arnolds failed to provide Doogie adequate shelter and veterinary care.

I also respectfully ask you to drop misdemeanor charges filed against Tammy
Grimes, including theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, and
criminal trespass. Please read and listen to witness testimonial from both
the attending veterinarian and the Arnold's neighbor. Please view video and
photos that depict animal neglect. Grimes may have encountered Doogie on
September 11, but the dog's physical state reflects long-term negligence.

Thank you,

made front page of the mirror yesterday. Were interviewed by WTAJ and WJAC.
WTAJ and the Mirror are still biased toward the abusers. Kim Eicher, the

to take it! She immediately went to WJAC, and they filmed her on the spot.

ALTOONA MIRROR: 814-946-7535
Tell The Mirror their story is biased, and they need to show Doogie's photo,
as well as interview Kim Eicher. Listen to Tammy speak here about talking
