I think it's absolutely cruel and I probably wouldn't recover for *years* if not decades if it happened to me... but at the same time, let us remember that this is not an opportunity to condemn another country as a whole. The ever-increasing population (1 billion + at this time) *is* a very serious problem for them. I've seen the poverty first-hand, everywhere...
