fianlly someone got it right-about BSL

This story warms my heart, it really does.  It gives me hope.

I really really hope that other law administrators and politicians realize the same.

It is so so so important to punish the deed, not the breed.... Efforts to enforce should be directed at the owner, therfore, innocent dogs and responsible owners are not punished.

"When breeds are singled out as dangerous or vicious, responsibility is removed from the owner, which is where it belongs," he said. "Breeds and mixes are hard to identify, and often dogs are mislabeled and destroyed based on paranoia and prejudice. It also punishes those that are good canine citizens

One of the best parts of the article. And so true and on point. It is not the dog, it is the humans creating the problem. I don't know if the statistic is still accurate but, nationally, the most reported dog bites were from labs, probably because of their prevalence. That is, any dog can bite, regardless of breed. BSL is about as stupid as instiutionalized racism.

I totally agree with Ron on this one.  If I spill coffee on myself and get a serious burn, it's not the coffee's fault.  It's my fault.  I spilled it.  If I have a dog and I allow it to bite someone, it's not the dog's fault.  It's my fault, as I allowed the even to transpire.

Put the responsibility back into ownership.

I will NEVER get tired of saying this: Ban one "vicious" breed and the bad owners will just find something bigger and tougher looking to turn into biting machines.

Ban Pit Bulls and thugs ill start using Neos, Filas, Cane Corsos and other bigger and 'tougher' breeds that have the potential do do so much more damage than a pit bull
