All I Can Say is Blechhhh

 Ugh I don't even know much about breeding and this bothers me. Especially the unregistered border collie being bred...What the heck? Maybe it's just me but if I came across a website that was breeding different breeds, I'd immediately exit the window.

 AKC is just a data base. Garbage in, garbage out.  AKC does their best, but they have to work with data submitted by humans.  While my last few dogs qualified for AKC registration, as I didn't plan to breed them or compete, I never registered them. If you don't know the breeder, you are taking a risk.

With all the scams on the internet, I don't know why anybody would buy a dog online.

I'm super skeptical of anyone who says they have a "wolf hybrid".  I think very rarely are they part wolf.  Just because they look wolf does not make it so, or because you got a dog of CL and the original owner said the dog was part wolf does not make it so.  There are several breeds of dog that were designed to look just like wolves but have NO wolf content.

As for registration, it *is* important to me even with working dogs because I cannot compete or Breed Survey my dogs without the proper FCI-recognized registration.  I do not purchase dogs, even my working line dogs, without full AKC (or SV-Germany) registration.  But those papers give NO indication of the quality of the dog (just like a person carrying a social security card could be a pedophile or a felon...just because you have a unique identifier and a family tree does not make you a good person).
