Animal Welfare group are they doing what they say?

When you see things posted cutting down organizations such as the HSUS, please do some research yourself and do not take all of this info you are reading as fact. This post is not meant to defend or criticize the organizations. I'm leaving that decision up to you. I'm only asking you to do some research and read both sides of the story. And also go to the site of the organization in question and see for yourself what you think.

Here is a link to info about who is behind an awful lot of this stuff, if not all of it.

     http://www.bermanexposed.org/

Richard Berman is the man behind all of this condeming animal welfare groups, such as the HSUS. He is behind a whole slew of front groups and projects and he does it all for big business. He is what they call a hired gun.
He has been a regular for industry, campaigning against any group that has consumer safety in mind, the environment, as well as animal welfare.

Check out all of the positions he holds with these groups...pretty much a one man band for a lot of them.

Want to check out who is making all of the money, well check out the home that he lives in. Do some research and check out the tax returns.

In 2006 it is stated that he used 2,000,000 in cash to buy a 3.3 million dollar house.
You can scroll to the bottom of either of these pages and you should see the house.

I've read a statement that he made that he is all about bad mouthing organizations, however he can, to turn people against them.

Please people just do your research and make the decisions for yourself. Read both sides of stories and be very careful that the site you are reading from is legit. It takes a lot of research and time, but it is the only way to know the truth for yourself.

Much depends on what side of the table you sit on.  The fact that he bought an expensive home from his earnings doesn't bother me.  Being poor doesn't make one honest.  My feelings about the HSUS come from first hand accounts from shelter groups and how they were treated by HSUS.  I have no doubt that HSUS does some good work for animals.  So does PETA.   All special interest groups have an agenda and it's not always easy to discern the agenda from looking at a website.  It takes a wealth of information and input to draw conclusions and those conclusions can still be inaccurate.  We all tend to filter out what we don't want to believe and focus on the information that coincides with our personal beliefs.

You are very right in that people need to do their research.  No one article or one person or group's opinion should stand as proof of anything.   Thanks for the information.

Someone buying an expensive home off of their earnings doesn't bother me either. It's where his money is coming from and how much which bothers me, especially because those are the types of things he spreads, all over the internet, about other organizations. He pretty much has the internet so flooded with his web pages that if you do a search for any of the groups he is fighting against, you will come onto pages of his.....so many different groups and so many different names. You won't realize they are necessarily his organizations, without continuing to research.

Yes, he seems to be quite the gad about on the internet.  Lobbyists are really just hired guns and I take everything a lobbyist says with a huge dose of salt.  Even when they are working for a cause or idea I support.

HSUS and PETA are not Animal Welfare groups but Animal Rights groups. The purpose of the animal rights movement is to restrict and ideally outlaw the use of domestic animals in our world. IMO Their the AR groups actions speak loudly enough that people who wish to maintain their right to own, breed, work or eat animals would be wise to oppose such groups.
