How would a two hour rule apply to some of my dogs that work at airports,

Which airports exactly do your  dogs work at Becca,i would love to check them out and talk to their owner/trainers :)

However,  this is spoken like someone who has not lived with a high drive, intelligent dog, when the owner has to work to make a living.

this Law is evidence enough that they are being over used and used to much as babysitters, rather than the temporary, short term tools they should be used for.

Not sure where you are getting that.  Unless I missed something, there was no mention of the word "crate" anywhere in the wording of the law.  IME, the law seems to be aimed much more squarely at extreme situations--mills, hording, *truly* neglectful situations, etc.  however, it is still too vague and *way* to open to abuse IMHO.

The comment was in regard to an opinion posted that if crates were outlawed then folks would learn to adjust without them just fine.

Not sure if you were responding to me or not, but my post was a response to Edie's comment. Stick out tongue

I would tend to agree with you actually...

I sell to clients who maintain contracts at air facilities.  So people you talk to at these places will know my contractor's name not mine.  The main one is Flyaway BASH, who does a lot of military contracts and a few civilian facilities.  MacDill AFB in FL - Todd Fennema is the guy to talk to there about Trim (he WUVS her).  They have a safety program with annual demo days and award ceremony.

Charleston AFB in SC is another (gee, South Carolina, could it be I have a serious direct concern here with the new law?).  Two females, Ann and Jen, are working there.  Dover AFB in Delaware is using two of our dogs if memory serves.  The dog contracted there is Jaff.  Southwest Florida International, a civilian facility, also had a dog of ours (Babe, renamed Jett I think) but the contractor may have moved her to the big account in Las Vegas.

Once I felt that I had a serious direct concern with a new law. Rather than sit and brew on it I decided to have a phone chat with my Council's Animal Control Officer. After the phone chat I understood the new law in what it really meant, then I understood I really had nothing to worry about at all. If you have some direct concern may I suggest you consider makeing a phone call.
