PIT BULL OWNERS to pay $500 to keep dog!!!!!

My dogs have a three strikes and you are out rule. if either of them were to bite three times intact or otherwise (unless in my defense) I will have them put down. The owners of the two dogs that are responsible for a majority of the bitings ought to be cuffed upside the head.

Not sure I agree that this is the right thing to do either. Seems that most times a dog bite could be avoided....if my dog did bite some one one time...and caught me off guard,,,I would not let that dog get into a position to bite another. Just like the PB laws....seems to me the biting dog is the fault of the owner,,,not the dog....for the most part.

As a APBT owner I support this 100%. Think about it....how many irresponsible dog owners who beat, fight or mistreat their dogs would actually pay $500 to keep there dog? I'm so tired of strangers turning up tHeir nose at my "PIT BULL", or not being able to find a apartment because of my dog's breed. If that is what it would take to help so called vicous breeds I'd be all for it! If I had to pay $500 for a dog tag that ensured she'd be treated like all other dogs I'd do it in a heart beat!

Not to mention I'd rather pay then have a BSL law passed. I'd proudly pay $500 to show everyone I AM a resonsible dog owner and help weed out all teh irresponsibles. I know its a lot of money but its nothing comapred to what our breeds have endured. The money however would have to go to a worthy cause....no political mumbo jumbo. Hey maybe it could go to cleansing the lines and get rid of all these 100lbs American Bullies they call pit bulls. LOL!

An interesting post AuroraLove, I understand what you are saying. I'm not positive that it could work though.....because just like now...we will still have the unresponsible PB (and every other breed) owners.   I think we need to punish the owner of the dog that is not being resposible...and not taking care of his dog.

As far as where the money goes...it would be a political MESS!   One politician wanting to put it here..another there. 

A lot of people own those lines you want to clean and get rid of....and love them as much as you love your dog.

Oh beleive me, I know the reality of that working out is almost comedic, lol! I was speaking ideally.....since thats the stand point of most of our politicians, lol. They make it all sound so easy. I'm sorry if I sounded as if I disliked the big bullies or wanted them exterminated. I see how that came off wrong. Rather I would love to see them labeled publicly as their own breed versus the actual breed standard. I don't consider them traditional APBT.....but that is my personal opinion nor do I think they deserve any less then any other dog, I guess its the way of the world. I have however noticed that a majority of the irresponsible owners favor those type of pit bulls versus the traditional ones.....just a little specualtion! Its sad to think what will happen to this breed 20 years from now........ well thats a different fight for a different day I guess.

I understand! And I agree that many of the irresposible owners have the big toughie kind of bullies...that they name names like Demon...or Diablo....or something sounding mean and scary. 

That is so true and funny, lol! Not as funny as the Poodle named "Chomper" that I met the other day! That's kinda creepy, lol
