Ethical question for rescuers

DPU...if their link is on the front page of my site, and has been for awhile...I already am directing people to rescue.

I already have a relationship with this rescue so anonymous makes no sense...lol. They know me, my name, my email, and that I've donated in past.

    Thanks for your input tho!

Thanks to everyone once again. Details still to be worked out...and of course Nonnie needs to be preggers lmao...but it's a plan I think I'll carry out if not this time than in future.

Gina, looks like you already had it figured out from the beginning.[;)]

Honestly, I think it's wonderful, and it shows that you also have empathy for the many homeless animals out there.  To me this says that you are a truly caring person.

    Is it Save 1??

They are excellent and Sarah told me they are going to start a strictly beagle rescue!!!! Which of course is desperatly needed around here.

I am 2005 sure (if it is them) they wouldnt mind.

I thought one of the "hallmarks" of a reputable breeder is that they are involved in rescue? I suppose you could take that to mean that the breeder is supposed to be actively fostering, or otherwise giving of their time, but I do not see how giving money could possibly be objectionable. Really, if the rescue you are thinking of does not want your money I'm sure there are others who would be grateful for it.

as with all rescue debates, the ethics question can get fuzzy really fast, and i can see both sides of it.  because i feel that your intentions both as a breeder and a dog owner are noble, i am biased towards you.  if i didn't *know* anything about you, i might think it was a little ironic, if not unethical.

as someone else said, it's your money, do what you like with it.  i personally think it's the right thing to do, although to avoid possible conflicts of interest, i would consider donating anonymously, regardless of your affiliation with the rescue.
