I think I left 1/2 of the very few brain cells I have left in NO the last time I went.  Those hurricanes are deadly.

I walked into the front room this a.m. to be greeted by a puddle on the floor. I wondered what fool spilled something and couldn't be bothered to wipe it up, but when I leaned over to wipe it I felt rain on the back of my neck.  Crap!  The skylights were open.  Who closes the skylights in the middle of October?  A few days ago it was summer.  Normally rain doesn't come in, but the wind is blowing so hard that it's coming in at quite an angle. Skylights are now closed and I got my coffee made early in case the power goes out.  All is good.

Deb, we can always count on you for the drinking/drug references and Amanda for the sex references.  Who's handling the rock-n-roll?

Oh, that's right - that'd be you Deb.  How was Bruce?

Are you willing to handle the rock-n-roll references Tina?

I think that you should have asked Deb if she remembers going to see Bruce.  Then you can expand from there.....;)

    Good point, Amanda.

Don't know if I'm old enough to handle all the rock-n-roll references.  Jackie, can you help us out?  **ducking down now**

Ugh, how long do I have to be sick?  My fever finally went away (after 2 weeks), but yesterday morning I woke up with a skull splitting headache, the thought of going to work on the computer made me want to vomit so I told DH I needed to sleep it off.  Then I got up and was immediately hacking up crap and had no voice so I skipped work altogether (can't exactly answer the phone when I can't speak).  Today my voice is somewhat back but I'm still totally congested and coughing up crap.  This is still from getting sick on Sept. 27!

Good point there, Tina.  Jackie is definitely OLD enough to handle the rock-n-roll references.

And Tina, when Jackie sees out "old" comments & tells us what we can go do to ourselves, I plan to blame you for everything! Stick out tongue

I need to harvest my tomato plants, because we're starting to frost, but I have TONS of green ones left!  I'm researching tomato ripening ideas, anyone know of a good method?

I remember every minute of the 3 hours and 20 minutes he played non-stop.  I just don't remember the car ride home.  Good thing Mr. W is the designated driver in the W family.

My grandma would pick them green, wrap them in newspapers and put them in the fruit cellar.  The fruit cellar was a dirt floored space under her kitchen, so sort of like a basement in that it was cool but not cold in the winter.  Grandma would have fresh ripe tomatoes on the Sunday dinner table all winter long.

Joyce, you are not nuts.  Come to Michigan and try to find gloves, scarves, boots, and hats in January/February.  Usually you find nothing but swimsuits.

No kidding! When Willa was born (in March) all we could find was short-sleeve onesies and dresses. Indifferent We had to order a ton of clothes online. It was winter through May that year.

You can start right away.  The pay stinks, but you'll have some good stories, if  you can remember them.

Oh, and one more thing...please try to stay awake on the bus - I don't want to see a video on You Tube of you snoring and drooling on The Boss.

Tina, is it true that the mind starts to go downhill at 40?  Your post seems rather............sparse.  LMBO!!!

Liesje - have you seen a dr. again recently? It might not hurt to have them check you out again. I can't imagine being sick for as long as you have. I hope you start to feel better soon.

I was looking out the window of the office and saw a huge branch fall off a tree. It was large enough to smoosh a car but fortunately didn't land on anything. It did nix my desire to go to the gym at lunch though. I really miss when I don't go but just didn't feel like dealing with the crazy weather. Hopefully I can get out of here a little earlier than usual. From what I can tell by the news, the roads are going to be a mess come commute time.
