Cathy, I wasn't understanding the shirt and the helmet, but then you got to the shoes and I do the same thing Embarrassed

When I found a good deal on a really nice pair of new balance sneakers, I bought about 8 pairs.  DH thought I was nuts.  But, they were cheap, and I would wear them *eventually* right?  I even had two pair shipped to my mom and made her wrap them up and pretend she gave them to me for christmas one year.  But, they did stop making them, and I don't need sneakers for another couple years.

I totally understand your feeling though, I hate to spend money on anything "frivolous" or that seems extravagant.  I also don't buy impulsively, or try not to, but we're also just starting out and have a new house, and are essentially broke, so my motivation is rather different from yours!

Thanks Nicole. I'm happy that he's gotten so into the biking thing. He takes his bike to the river and rides for a long time on every day off. He's also talking about joining a bike club. Maybe it's more important than I know to have matching everything. Oh geesh, it just occured to me that none of his shoes match the bike/helmet/shirts. Guess I'll be seeing another pkg arrive sometime soon - LOL.

House is shiny and clean now, so I feel good about that. Hopefully DH will get home from the gym soon so we can have brunch. I'm beyond starving and plan to cook a HUGE mess of food.

Ever want to visit Pittsburgh?  You could make my house shiny and we love brunch Big Smile  Even though it's going to be dinner time soon, I only had a smoothie for lunch since we're going out, so I'm starving with you!

Cathy, it sounds to me like you need a shopping trip of your own. Big Smile I don't have the patience for a  lot of shopping any more.  I got tired of getting dressed and undressed and pulling my shoes off and on to try on clothes and running in and out of a dressing room ... so a few years ago I switched to thrift stores.  I just grab something that looks like it will fit, pay $1 or $2 and take it home.  If it fits, great.  If it doesn't I toss it in the "collections bag" and try again.Big Smile That and assorted catalogs.

Poor Max had his walk cut short this a.m. and it wasn't even his fault.  After he pooped in the vacant field by my house, I realized I was pulling the last bag out of the dispenser ... and using the last bag means he's going to poop at least three more times, so I just took the shortcut home. Too bad, because the weather is absolutely perfect for walking today. Better luck tomorrow.

Ughhhh!!! The suspense is killing me!  I finished the Siggie I was working on, and now she's not around to tell me if she likes it or not!  I hate waiting, I always second guess myself...Sad

I think that might cure me too but like you, I'm short on patience with the whole clothes shopping experience. I go now and then, but nothing like I used to. I've really been wanting a new bedding set but all the stuff I like costs in the range of $300-$400. That would include the king size duvet, shams, and bedskirt and I just can't bring myself to drop that much for bedding. I did several years ago and still love what we've got but I'm bored with it now.

Nicole - I hope you had a great dinner. Brunch was good and filling, so I'm not sure I'll ever be hungry for dinner. I have a new recipe I want to try but I think I'll wait till tomorrow to cook it.

I'm soooo angravated right now!  (see my thread on microchips in GC)  I really need a beer.  But seriously, if I could get some thoughts on the situation, I would soooo much appreciate it.  I know I just posted it, and I should be patient, but mine has run out for today...Sad

DW and I had a run-around day. We run around and spend money. We went to Green Market and got a bunch of stuff on sale and some free samples. I got Shadow new food that should suit him better. They carry Eagle Pack Natural and it looks suitable for him. He seemed to like it well enough when I fed it to him. It will eventually be cheaper than continuing on the new Nutro Large Breed Adult Lamb Meal and Rice that I was feeding and having to add Missing Link because his coat and hide were getting dry enough to itch.

We stopped by Blockbuster because they were having a sidewalk sale on movies and bought some we haven't seen but really wanted to.

Then to the grocery store. We are having pasta with ground turkey and orange bell pepper, onion, garlic, mushrooms and a zesty pasta sauce. We're either going to watch "Criminal MInds" or one of the movies. I started raining when we got home but it's a nice, even, quiet rain that cools things off, though it never got over 80 F today.

Check out some of the catalogs like Blair, Domestications and Brylane Homes.  Pretty good stuff and way, way less than the $300-$400 range.  I love the look of the quilt w/bedskirt, but since Max sleeps up on there during the day, I'd be picking it up off the floor all the time.  I found a pretty king size Americana print fitted bedspread in the Blair catalog for $69 and since it has some tan sections, it doesn't show the dog hair.

Candace, I LOVE my new siggie!

We are officially moved!!!  Well, almost moved...I bought a new bedroom set, & living room set today. Embarrassed  It won't be delivered until tomorrow morning.  I really wasn't planning on a new living room set, but I fell in love with it, & the price was right.  DH wasn't particularly thrilled when I told him, but after he got to see it, he loves it too.  We worked on unpacking for what seemed like forever, but at least we made progress.  I got both boys rooms completely unpacked, along with the kitchen, & dining room completely unpacked.  DH worked in our closet.  He has everything organized & put in it's proper place.

Since the kids are at their grandma's this weekend, we promised that we'd stay at the old house tonight, so that we can all move in as a family tomorrow.  Literally, we have a bed, the laptop, some clothes for tonight & tomorrow, & the dogs & their beds.  It should take up one trip to finish off the move.

Tomorrow, DH & I are running in the Stiletto Stampede for the Cure in memory of the boy's mother.  It's a 100 yard dash wearing heels that are at least 2.5 inches.  It should be a blast.  If anyone has family or friend's names who they would like added to our shirts just let me know.  Afterwards, we are taking the kids to see Pearl Jam at the Austin City Limits Music Festival.  It's going to be a busy day.

Good luck!  I couldn't run 100 inches in heels unless a grizzly bear were chasing me. lol  I hope the weather isn't too messy.  We are wet, wet, wet here.  Our power kept going off and on all night.  Every time it went off, Rex came over and woke me up.  He wasn't scared acting, he has no storm phobia.  I think he just wanted to let me know.  I need to go the the grocery store and I think I'll stop by Home Depot and get some rye grass seed to toss out while it's rainy.

I made an apple coffee cake yesterday and it turned out deliciously good.

    EDITED TO ADD:

CANDACE!!!  I love Amanda's new siggy picture, you really are talented, girl.

One box of Fiber One Apple Cinnamon muffin mix.  Make batter per instructions.  From here on out it's a matter of eyeing things, because I'm not much on mearsuring when I'm making up things like this. lol  Melt some butter, add some regular granulated sugar and some brown sugar and some cinnamon. Slice or chop two apples and add to butter/sugar mix.  Cook till the apples are almost tender and the sugar has started to caramelize..  I cook this in a cast iron skillet and spoon the batter on top. If I have them, I add walnuts or pecans. Cook for around 30 minutes at 350 F.  You can pour the apple mixture on top and I've also stirred the apple mix into the batter and cooked them in muffin tins too.  I have no hard and fast rules when it comes to cooking. lol   I'm always making things up as I go along.  Sometimes it turns out good and other times, not so much.  lol

I am bored.  I have tons of work to do but just don't want to do it.  DH had to go to the mountains for work so just me and my not so gimpy dog.  I am not sure what to do with him - seems everyone is saying just get the surgery but it feels hard to do it when he is fine most of the time.

My aunt and godmother has been suffering with cancer for years now and it seems her fight is nearing an end. I have a trip planned at the end of this month however she was admitted to hospital yesterday.  Could use some vibes that she goes home and my trip is in time to see her.

I suppose that's it - guess I could use some do your work while your not occupied vibes so that when tomorrow comes and the phone is ringing and a zillion things need to be done I've actually done a few things............
