Jen was admitted to a different hospital last night.  She refuses to go back to the first one where they just basically hung an IV bag and left her alone....never even called her doctor.

Sis and BIL arrived yesterday and found Jen lethargic and getting worse.  It seems to be a family trait....the females in my line tend to go like the Energizer bunny.  We don't stop, we don't slow down and we don't let illness put us in bed.

We don't know about the planned surgery, or anything else.  Honestly I'm pretty scared now.

Glenda, I am so sorry to read that Jen isn't improving.  When your sis & bil found her, was that before she was admitted to the new hospital?  I will continue good thoughts for her.

Not much excitement, just a little busy doing orders on top of paying for things here at work.  Then I've got to set up a location for a group meeting, which is simple, but I always seem to order too much food for the event.  And I don't even go, so I don't get to take anything home!

I've adjusted Agnes's diet following my "Four Paws, Five Directions" guideline for heart patients and she is doing well with it.  Her tongue went from purplish-red to much closer to pink.  She's also getting a few more supplements, following the guideline, and I think that is part of the reason she has been up for little walks and such.  She totally missed a squirrel on our walk last night (it was right in front of us, but she couldn't see it or catch its scent).  And she didn't see the rabbit out in the yard when we were outside with the cats.  The cats saw it, though, and were cursing me for putting them on leashes...LOL!

Wow, You & Jen are still in my thoughts Glenda.  I certainly do not blame her for not wanting to go to the original hospital.

Tina, I just got that book.  I love it.  Today Maghee has an accupuncture appointment.  I can't wait.  I love hearing her little snores when she's being treated.

Glenda, I can't believe that Jen is so sick from something so simple.  We're sending our good thoughts & vibes to her for a speedy recovery.

Tina, don't your cats curse you regularly?  I know mine curses me daily.  He's an ungrateful little monster.

It took me almost 20 minutes to get to work this morning.  It usually takes me 5 minutes at the most.  During my wait I listened to one of the local radio morning shows.  The discussion today was "rate your sex life."  All that I'll say is "Yikes!"  There is no way that I'd go on the radio to tell everyone how lousy my sex life was.  First it's embarrassing.  Second, it's terribly disrepectful to your partner.  I just don't understand people...

Sis and BIL went back to Holland yesterday to relieve the MIL.  Sis said she wasn't great when they arrived, but by 5PM she was really lethargic and continued to get worse and worse as the evening wore on.  Her DH apparently needed to be convinced that yeah, she really does need medical intervention....and then wanted to take her back to the Holland hospital, which Jen refused to go near.  Thankfully Sis was there because we all know how Moms are when it comes to our "young".  So Jen is in Spectrum in Grand Rapids, and that hospital has an excellent reputation.  My nephew and his wife live in the GR area so Sis and BIL have a place to take the children if they need to be close or at the hospital with Jen.

I've never had an ingrown toenail in my life, but my oldest sister had the surgery to keep the toenail from growing in years ago, and I know Sis had some kind of foot surgery and am thinking it was for ingrowns......good heavens!  TWO hospitalizations and in darned near critical condition over a freaking TOENAIL????  How does this happen?????

I'm so sorry Amanda.  I could give you a few pointers if needed and Jackie G might lend you a couple of her "costumes".

Rainy again today.  So nice to have rain and cooler temps.

Tina, I'm so glad that Agnes is feeling better and better.

Ruger, my friend/coworker's Weim, who I love like my own, has a Vet appointment this morning.  I noticed something wasn't right as soon as he came in the door.  Swollen upper lip and he's pawing and licking it contstantly.  I feel a small lump under his jaw too.  He lives in a rural area and snakebite is always a possibility.  His owner said he "thought" something wasn't quite right this morning at home but he had sort of blown it off. I kind of insisted that he get him in to the Vet, ASAP.  My friend really loves his dog and takes great care of him,  he's just not quite as much of a worrier as I am when it comes to the dogs.  Hopefully it's nothing serious but better to get it checked out rather than regret later.

ETA to warn Deb W. that Amanda isn't going to take that laying down.  Oh, poor choice of words but you get my drift. lol  I think she was meaning to say the person calling in to the radio show had a lousy sex life.  If I'm wrong, let me know Amanda and I'll pick up a few things for you to help make things more exciting.  Don't worry about the postage, they don't weigh much.  Wink

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I think that I'm doing fine in that department, Deb!  I was speaking of the people who actually called in & whined about their lousy sex lives!  Although, I am always open to new suggestions...

Maybe Jackie & I can meet up for a "costume" exchange!

ETA:  Jackie you are 100% correct.  I am not much of a "take it laying down" kinda girl!  Devil

That's probably part of her "problem" ~ if you're always just laying down you're gonna have a lousy sex life Big Smile

Edited to add:  P.S.  I knew what Amanda meant all along - just having some fun Wink

ROFL, you all are great :o)

Looked at some houses this week.  Lots of pretty dumpy places, and some places that would be fantastic if someone had the $ to do all the fixing required.  There was one place last night that was really nice though.  Doesn't look like it needs anything major right away, the furnace is pretty old but everything else seems to be in good shape.  It was really cute.  Kinda small, around 920 sq ft (our estimate based on the listed downstairs room sizes) but really don't need too much.  Enough of a yard to let the dogs run out and potty, but there exercise would come from walks, etc.  I liked it a lot.  The realtor is getting the disclosure today so I can check that out.  Weee! its exciting :o)

    • Gold Top Dog

~LOL~  Ladies, you crack me up.

Steph, isn't it exciting when you find a house that has potential?  I hope it works out for you.

I'm shamelessly begging people to go see this link.....http://community.dog.com/forums/p/99136/790001.aspx#790001.  It's for a dogwalk that I'm one; on the committee for & two; walking in.  Aspen & I would really appreciate it if you would go take a look.

I worked with a woman whose husband had clipped his toenails and a day later had a red streak running from the foot up the leg. He had a staph infection and had to be admitted and put in IV antibiotics. Scary stuff for sure.

We have our Board mtg today and although it'll be a crazy day, it'll be the end of the chaos for the week. It feels like the week has flown by. I've been asleep by 9-9:30 every night and just thankful that we have a DVR and can record all the new shows.

It's supposed to be 98 today and 100 tomorrow but then we get a nice cool down. 85 degrees will feel chilly after these last few weeks.

I still haven't gained the weight back that I lost after the surgery and I couldn't find any of my dress pants that fit this morning. My dad used to say "it looks like he's got a load in his pants" when he'd see someone with a baggy butt and that's what everything I had looked like. Embarrassed

Well, Cathy I know why you haven't gained that lost weight back yet.  You sent it to me and I kept it.  I've been trying to send it back to you but it seems to be stuck on pretty good. lol  OMG, your Dad's description of baggy pants made me laugh so loud I woke up all the dogs!

Speaking of Dads - me and Mr. W are taking my Mom & Dad out to dinner and then later to see Jersey Boys on Broadway tonight!!  The tickets were a birthday present for my Dad.  It's hard to buy anything for him, because he is literally the man who has everything!!  Should be fun !!
