Mindless Chatter Friday Edition

Lisa, be careful around the crazy guy.  If you'd like, I'll send Bev or Bru to you.  I can pretty much guarantee that they will love Riley & Charlie, & they are both great walking buddies.  The only downside for you that I can see is that they will probably eat a little more than Charlie does.  Well that and the Boxer drool, & Dober gas, but once you are used to those things, they are inconsequential really!

I have determined that my assistant is nuts.  She has actually been in the office with me today, so I've actually had to hold conversation with her.  She has a UTI, yet she has drank at least 5 cokes since 8:30 this morning.  For some reason I seriously doubt that drinking those are going to make her feel any better.  I have also learned far more about her husband, & family members than I needed to.  Can we say "Deliverance"????

    Liesje

DH and I are going out tonight.

We're going out tonight also with some friends. Unfortunately there will be 4 kids tagging along! Lol.

JJ got paid today. So I took the pups and got their shots and wormed. Picked up a worm pill for Kujo since I noticed she had worms also.Ick! Got some Interceptor for Lillie and Fynn since they take the same one and a year's worth only last me 6 months with them. Had to get dog food for everyone. In 3 hours I spent $300 and then after getting home called the insurance company to renew our policy so another $175 gone. So by the end of tonight, we have to get grocieries also, we'll have spent at least $500. Isnt getting paid fun?!

Oh I forgot. Stupid car broke down so I had to call a friend to come get us. What a day!

Wow, that's a whole lotta TMI!  I don't ever want to know that much about my co-workers.  I guess as long as she gets her work done to your satisfaction...

She's awesome at her job, so I can deal with the TMI issues.

Amanda - I can assure you that if I had Bevo with me he would not have bothered me one little bit!!   LOL

    • Gold Top Dog

Sounds like Bevo needs to be Fed-Exed out on loan for a day or so Wink

I am having a super duper bad day. I FINALLY got a hold of the plumber to install our new dishwasher, and he came out and did, but said there was some problem with the drain hose or something. He said the smell was really bad when he was taking the old one out, but that the smell would go away once it aired out. When I asked if we should clean out the space before installing the new one, he said no.

An hour after he left, it still smelled awful (picture the worst bad, decaying breath you've ever smelled, and then make it extra strong), despite the fans we had to "air it out." I decided I should mop the floor to help the cleaning process. I then noticed a puddle of sewage crud on the floor by the front door - clearly stuff that had dripped out of the old drainage pipes as he took them to his truck outside.

The smell was SO strong that I puked twice just trying to mop it up, and I was using a Swiffer (no dirty mop water).

I mopped at least 4 times, then febreezed the whole area, and it still reeks. 4 hours later and I can't even walk into the kitchen/living room without wanting to hurl (and gagging a few times). So now I can't walk in the kitchen/living room (nor can I let Rascal out, in case he tracks crud over the house), can't walk barefoot in the computer room or let Rascal loose in there (still residual risk of glass shards in the carpet, though I spent over 2 hours just vacuuming that one room), and we can't let Rascal in the bedroom because he peed on the bed - AGAIN - 2 days ago. ARRRRGH!

The GREs should be a breeze after this Wink Thanks for all your good wishes, everyone.

Wow Cita - thanks for making my day look better. I hope things smell better soon. I tend to get obsessed about stuff like that and can smell it even when it's gone. Hopefully that won't be the case for you. White vinegar heated in the microwave usually helps.

My day has been about as crazy as I anticipated. I always tell everyone that I need stuff for the Board mtg packets on Thursday and yet I'm always tapping my fingers on Friday afternoon. I've had to be close to rude to my boss to get him to focus. He's on a call in his office with the door closed and I still don't have items I need from him. Super Angry I want to work at one of those jobs where Fridays are slow.

I just found a $25 gift certificate for Restoration Hardware, tucked in a corner of my wallet.  I'll be having lunch practically across the parking lot from Restoration Hardware tomorrow.  Coincidence?  I think not. :)

Courtney, your kitchen/window catastroph's are the clear winners for the worst day. Sad What a mess! Tomorrow has to be better and that means you'll ace your tests tomorrow.

Have a good time, those going out.  DH is playing golf, so I'm home with the dogs and the kitty.  I'm not sure what we'll do for dinner.  I don't think I've cooked all week.  Wait, I made grilled cheese sandwiches and heated soup the other day.  I'll count that. lol

Liesje, that soup you mentioned made my mouth water!  Please share your recipe. :)

I made a thread about Sammy over in health -> diseases and conditions, although it probably should have been in main heath for more traffic.  Hopefully our vet appt tomorrow gives us some answers?

Came home to find a new chinese restaurant menu in the mailbox, so we tried there... it was pretty good, actually.  We're picky about chinese, I make general tso's myself, but we had "amazing chicken" and one order was plenty for the two of us.

I have a busy weekend and all I want is to not leave the house Sad  I've already started on the mai tai mix I have here :)

Speaking of ":)" -- apparently today is the 27th anniversary of the smiley :)  DH works at CMU, and the guy who "created" it is from there.... fun fact for today!

Nicloe, I read about Sammy in Health.  No advice but I'm sending good thoughts and vibes your way for Sammy.

Crap.  I hate when my gut is right.

Jen is in the hospital.  Sis took her in about 10:30 last night and they admitted her.  She's got cellusomethinorother.  IV antibiotics, blah, blah, blah, crutches and a walker (hopefully not both to be used at the same time).  Sis got back to Jen's house after 2AM.  Sis doesn't stay awake much after NINE, so she's gotta be totally wrecked on so little sleep and stress.  I figured them leaving so late it must be pretty bad.  Normally my nephews wife, the nurse, would be on hand to help, but her mom had surgery, so she's in Indiana taking care of HER....and rather pregnant as well.  When it rains it pours.

Would really appreciate those healing vibes and prayers to continue.

    Sending good thoughts for Jen.

Apparently DH is trying to make up for being a jerk last weekend, but being very sweet this weekend.  The kids are at their grandma's for the weekend, so he is "taking care of everything."  I wasn't sure if I should be afraid or excited!

Tonight, he took me to my favorite French restaurant.  He even made a reservation!!!!  Which he never does.  Tomorrow, we are going to get couple's massages, & I am getting a pedicure.  I'm going to try to convince him to get a pedicure with me.  I can be very convincing....

A friend and her husband did that recently, and we tried to convince him to get flowers painted on his big toenail...because they couldn't to the USMC emblem. lol!!
