Mindless Chatter - HUMP DAY

    Mindless Chatter - HUMP DAY

I am sooo tired.  I worked until 10:00 last night and back at the office at 6:00 this morning.  Thank goodness Riley slept through the night for the first time in the past few days.  She was running a lowish fever the past couple of days.  I do have to admit I did take full advantage of her wanting to snuggle.  She is such NOT the snuggle baby, so I loved it when she wanted me to get in bed with her and snuggle.  I am also glad I got a full night's sleep last night...the best of both worlds I guess.

    Have a good day everyone!

Need some good vibes for my co-worker today.  I think I posted about this before, but a two years he and his wife had a baby that has some genetic problems, very rare.  She was not supposed to live and they were even given the choice of taking her off support, but they choose to keep her.  She has many severe mental and physical problems (the genetic problem is neurological and I think also effects how some parts of her body have/have not developed).  After they got her stabilized, took her home, and settled into a routine, they tried for another baby (they also have two boys who are fine).  The new baby girl has the same problems and she died this morning in the NICU.  They have learned a lot about this genetic mutation and no doubt their "case" has been very valuable for research, but this is just so awful.... *sigh*

Thoughts and prayers going out to them!

Good vibes from here, Liesje.  That's so sad.

Amanda, I'm so glad that Brutus is doing better and his exams didn't show anything abnormal.  Also glad the creepy stalker has been arraigned.  What a nut case.  Glad Bru rearranged his face, though it'll probably make him resent women even more.  Oh well, he'll be in short supply of those where he's going.

Agnes's excessive thirst seems to be subsiding a bit, though she still is struggling with the incontinence.  Had her walk around the block last night - took 20 minutes - but she's glad to be out, so I don't mind.

Oh wow Lies, that's just horrible.  I'm sending good vibes for your co-worker's family.

Have I ever mentioned what a good dog Brinxx is?  I know that I don't talk about her much, because in the grand scheme of things, she's sweet, well behaved, & doesn't get into trouble like some of my other guys do.  Anyway, from the moment I brought her home, she has beeen drawn to DS#2.  Even before he was "ours" she loved him.  As soon as the kids moved in for good, she moved to his bedroom to sleep.  He is, literally, her kid.

DS#2 is a sleepwalker, & Brinxx is so good about barking to let us know that he's up & moving.  Last night, we were awaken to Brinxx barking.  I got up & went downstairs to find DS trying to walk out the patio door, & Brinxx hanging on to his tightey whiteys to keep him from leaving the house.  I got him back to bed, & as soon as he was tucked in Brinxx was on the bed next to him, sniffing to make sure that her kid was ok.

During breakfast this morning, DS wanted to argue that he didn't walk last night.  I finally had to point out that his undies had a hole in them from Brinxx holding them to keep him in the house.  He assessed the situation, at the breakfast table, & then announce Brinxx to be his "best dog friend."  It was really cute.

Great job, Brinxx!  What a smart girl!  Extra treats and rubs for you today.

Lies, I'm so sorry to hear about your coworker.  I can't imagine how difficult this is for them.

Wow, Amanda, it sounds like Brinxx has found her dream job, lol.  Good girl!!!!

It's dark and rainy here.  We need the rain, yay, but it's so gloomy outside I did not want to get out of bed this morning, and I still feel like crawling back under the blankets and snuggling with Harry, lol. Sleep

Amanda - that story is absolutely adorable.  I am so glad stalker dude is out of life.  Did you ever figure out who he was and why he latched onto you...how did he know you?  My friend had a freaky stalker guy once that was literally some guy she knew from 15 years in the past that resurfaced one day.  I think he's in jail now too...totally creepy!!

Shari - so happy to hear Agnes is out and about.  What a sweetheart!  Her story just warms my heart to think of her spending her later years lounging at your house.  You are an angel.

Liesje, lots of good thoughts for your poor coworkers.

Tina, glad Agnes is enjoying herself. She sure lucked out to end up in such a great home!

Amanda, I'm glad the creepy coffee guy is locked up safely, and I'm really glad that Brutus seems to be doing better.  And Brinxx, what a good dog! I'm sure your son is happy to know that Brinxx has his back(side!) :)

Tina, if Agnes's water intake is decreasing, then her urine outpt should decrease soon as well!

Lisa, I don't know that guy.  I've wracked my brain, such that it is, trying to figure out if I know him.  I've talked with family, friends, co-workers, & ex co-workers to try to see if I was just missing something, but nobody knows him.  From all of the info that I could find, he has lived in Corpus Christi all of his life.  Well, until he came here anyway.  I have never lived in Corpus, & have only visited there a handful of times, most of which were for Spring Break many moons ago.

Amanda, I just read about the arraignment in yesterday's MC.  That's awesome!  I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this, but I sincerely hope that justice prevails and this guy is locked up for a long time.  And just picturing the damage Brutus did to the creepo...sounds like some justice has already been served.

I have a pot roast in the crock pot at home.  I wonder if the smell will drive the dogs nuts?  I can picture them wandering around the kitchen, sniffing the air, thinking, "This smells soooo good...where is it?  Why can't I get to it??" LOL.

True story...my cat Moose, the obnoxious beast that he is, has been known to jump on the counter and try to figure out how to get the lid off the crock pot, or the lid of whatever pot of meat (usually for the animals) that I might be cooking on the stove.  I kid you not, I have caught him trying to do it.  I don't know how he's managed not to burn himself severely.  I never leave anything out when I'm not home.

Great, now I have a vision of coming home to a broken crock pot on the kitchen floor and two dogs who have very guilty, yet satisfied looks on their faces!  Thanks a lot, lol.

    LOL!  I agree!

Lies, that is so sad about your coworker and their babies.  I'll pray for them.

Heather, I've wondered the same thing when I have something in the crockpot. lol   I can picture the dogs conspiring about how to get to that wonderful food.

I'm so sleepy today and I got plenty of sleep.

Tina, glad Agnes was up for a walk last night.  I know what it's like to walk geriatric dogs. Magic, in her later years could only go at what felt like a snail's pace.  When we would all go, the other dogs were like "come ON, are we even moving??"   DH would take the others ahead while Magic and I plodded along way, way behind.  She always gave me a look that I interpreted as "thanks, mom, I know you understand I can't go any faster".
