Ron, Pi definitely has that Lean back and JUST LOOK at you thing .... LOL.  He is *quite* the little Pirate!

I'm just now reading this and am so so very proud of you Mama Bear!  Instinct kicked in and you simply took care of the situation.  These things can rarely be planned; you, in an instant knew what had to be done.  Get the pittie off Pi;  then get Pi out of reach.  You da woMan!

I'm just sorry that my houligans weren't there to protect.  Having said that.....all of our iDogs could have had a hand in protecting you and your Pi.  Nah, you didn't need any help.  Big Smile  You've got it all under control.

Sending even more healing vibes and positive energy to you and yours from me and mine.  And, remember to keep that injured finger raised  high...always higher than the fingers on either side.  ROFL.

There should be a law that people who have dogs that have attacked other dogs are NOT allowed to have pets anymore. Obviously this guy is an idiot and should never be allowed to have any kind of dog...ever again.  it is never the dog it is always the owner/handler.

Not sure that I agree to that though...any of us could have a dog that attacks when we are not on guard. However to do nothing to even try to stop it says that guy should NEVER be allowed to have a pet again...yes I agree to that.

I think I have seen enough dogs get out of a front door, out of a fenced in yard,  out of their own collars, and just not listen to their owners who are calling them back...as they are on a mission and don't even hear it.   Your right..its not the dog, its their owner...but we can never be sure exactly what our dogs are thinking and none of us better think otherwise.  Do you know how many dogs have come after my Great Dane while walking  them?  No...not a pitty...or dobie or rotty.....but a Chi,,, a cockapoo, a yorkie and these small barky dogs that just think their boss. And usually are.   No....we can not be too sure what are dogs are going to do....but we need to always be on guard and be ready to stop our dog if he does something we don't really think he will do, as well as ready to protect our dog from another.

Yikes. This sort of law would prevent a lot of very good owners from having dogs. Not sure why everyone's answer to everything is always "there should be law...". Really the last thing we need is more restrictive pet ownership laws, although I'm sure Animal Rights groups would get behind your idea 100% since they hope to legislate pet ownership into extiction. Apparently in the area this took place, it is already a crime to own an intact animal.

Yeah, according to that law, I would never be allowed a dog.  Dog aggression is very common, even completely normal and not always the owner's fault.

Heh, I have a dog that has severely bitten a HUMAN. I consider myself a good dog owner. They get ridiculous amounts of care, socialization, and training, and are extremely loved.

It does sound sort of PETA-esque, doesn't it?

And I agree with you. We already have pet laws in place. In Texas, if you own a dog that has bitten someone hard enough to require an ER visit, you could face criminal charges. This grew out of a police officer getting his arm bit by a dog during some kind of police action.

What we need is better owners through education and peer pressure to be better educated.
