Pirate got attacked by a pit bull :(

 I am so, so sorry that Pirate was attacked--we are sending him healing thoughts an prayers.  My heart just sank when I read the title of the thread.  I am glad that you are doing all you can to hold the owner of this dog accountable.  I hope that the pit in question either lands in a knowledgeable home that can properly manage her or is able to peacefully cross The Bridge.

There is never a winner in situations like this.....

Talus was turned down at the border...his mohawk wasn't on his passport so they wouldn't let him in...

 Oh gosh, I'm just reading this thread. I'm soooo glad to hear you both are on the mend and that Pirate is showing some spunk :)  I can only imagine how scared you were.  Thankfully we've only met up with good doggies (of all breeds and mixes) with Ari, but I'm always concerned because sooo many people around here who don't have control over their dog walk them off leash on hikes (with other dogs around and children).  I hope I never have to handle a situation like you did, and if I do I only hope I can handle it like you!

 I'm so sorry that happened to you and Pirate, the guy didn't get out of his car because he was afraid....afraid he would get bitten too I'll bet.

Meg, I hope you and Pirate are doing well. Blessings on you for handing this off to the legal system. I know how such things are handled where I live, and that, too, is based on the legal system here.

 How scary Megan!! I'm just really really glad you both weren't more seriously hurt! This is always my fear when I have my Maltese out for a walk...too many irresponsible pet owners out there! Hope you guys are doing better now.

We're both healing up, nicely - my middle finger is a little infected so BF is going to clean it tonight. Oh, joy.

Pirate sez his boo-boos are ITCHY! He keeps trying to scratch them, ick, but they are healing nicely as well.

I did have a side question. Can Pirate do Johnny Depp's impersonation of Keith Richards? The accent and affectation that Depp uses, he says he built the character on Keith Richards (Rolling Stones.)

He's kinda punky today - I think we're both sick to death of antibiotics!! I always worry, when he's on abx, because they can trigger a relapse of his immune disease. I think they just make his tummy sore though.

 That's good.  I was just checking it to make sure everything was still going smoothly with your recovery.  Good luck with that infected finger Megs.

I'm glad that you are both doing ok.

On a side note....I could have a lot of fun with an injured middle finger.  I'm sure that I'd have to show it to everyone.
