• sl2crmeg Posted : 8/17/2007 10:21:55 AM Hi gang. I went to visit him this morning. His spirits seem up. He ate a few bites for me. I brought him a new blue bobo to spruce up his cage a little. Depending on this morning's bloodwork, which they sent to the lab, and comes back in the afternoon, he *might* get to come home. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he doesn't have to stay the weekend too! I can't even tell you guys how much I appreciate your thoughts. I know I probably sound like a broken record, but it means so much to me to have a whole crew of people pulling for him! Her doxie mix girl is Pirate's 'girlfriend'. They really love each other, lol. She's the same way I am about dogs so she's been reminding me to, you know, eat, sleep, breathe. All the basics. I worked last night so at least I was occupied. The other girls at work (I work at a DDC/kennel, so we're all a little dog crazy) made me a poster that said 'GET WELL SOON Pirate!' and they hung it on the wall for me. • sl2crmeg Posted : 8/17/2007 5:25:53 PM Aw, shucks guys. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. His blood work isn't any better--in fact, he's getting worse, despite IV antibiotics and fluids. He's going to stay the weekend at hus current vet and first thing Monday morning he's transferring to a specialist in Maitland (not too terribly far from here). He's going to get a bone marrow biopsy, a chest x-ray, and an ultrasound. We're basically trying to figure out WHY his bone marrow isn't doing anything. So keep the good thoughts coming, please. Also some good thoughts that I get approved for Care Credit, and FAST. Thanks all.
