Mindless chat, Saturday

I didn't want to start it and give the impression that I had nothing better to do today . Kidding of course, but I don't have anything planned other than....more resting. I did wash the sheets on the bed. DH had gone to the gym and when he came home, I told him I washing the sheets and he said "already??" I pointed out that I hadn't changed them snce before my surgery, or about 2 wks ago and he just looked puzzled

Hope the reason no one has started this yet is because everyone is having FUN, like they are supposed to on weekends....

I wish.  The closest thing to fun was our walk and then it was straight to weekend chores. I don't mind cleaning the house and having it nice and clean but it doesn't stay that way long enough.

Cathy, my DH wouldn't change the sheets till they had changed colors if I weren't around. Well, maybe not that long but when I ask him to help me change the sheets, he usually says "didn't we just do that last week?".  But he's the first to say how wonderful the fresh sheets feel.  Personally, I would change them daily just for that clean, crisp feel the first time you crawl in but I don't want to wash sheets that often. lol 

Barefoot Contessa is on, I really like her and wish I could be such a comfortable, casual but elegant hostess.  Not to mention have her house and gardens......lol

Yeah, why don't the guys GET having nice clean sheets?

Cathy, don't feel bad.  I have nothing to do today either.  Just the same old general tidying, which really isn't much.  And I could care less whether it gets done today or not.....

Barefoot Contessa is on, I really like her and wish I could be such a comfortable, casual but elegant hostess.  Not to mention have her house and gardens......lol

I love her too. I've watched her show every afternoon right before I take a nap. She's so soothing and the setting is always so peaceful. I've watched more HGTV and Foodtv than anything else this last week.

I would love to have fresh sheets daily too but at least once a week is nice. DH has been a great buddy to just hang out with and I've thanked him profusely but if I didn't feel as good as I have, I'd be calling Molly Maid or one of those companies. I know he has to clean and cook at the firehouse but for some reason, he doesn't notice the copious amounts of dog hair here and he's happy to have a bagle and some Twizzlers for dinner

I was up at 7am, was at the garden by 8am. The weather was nice enough to dump 3 plus inches of rain here in the last 7 days and more is coming this evening so I had to go in and try to gain control. The weeds are trying to take over. All of my tomato plants are suffering from overweight issue's. I had to re stake and retie up 20 plants. I did not have enough stakes so the roma's are still on the ground. I had to wear my crocks because I would have ruined my other shoes for sure due to the mud issue. I pulled out some weeds but until that ground is a little dryer, it's not going to happen. I am going to post pictures of the bounty I picked today over in NDR. Hehe.....go look!

I was home at noon, took a shower, started the washer, took the rabbit cage outside and cleaned off the back porch. He got to enjoy the outside and I got to clean, does not sound like a fair trade now does it?

While the back porch floor was drying I weeded my front flower bed, picked up all the litter that seems to blow in the yard then went and emptied out and cleaned Kord's pool so he could cool off, it's his special day so we let him run wild in the yard getting wet and what not. The hubs can mow....

Now I just sat down to have a smoke, a fresh glass of tea and a bite to eat. Then it's off to the kitchen to take care of the bounty..........

 I mowed the dog pen. I slipped on poop and fell. But I caught myself even though I hurt my arm a little. Good thing though I didnt get land in the poop!!

Now gonna take Samantha and Joker for a walk.

 oh my word I spent about 4 hours trimming a tree and then chopping it up into manageable pieces.  DH was doing shrubs.  I am sooooooooooo hot - just can't cool off.  doG bless AC!

I'm about done with my chores.  Just the kitchen floor to clean.  I am really hungry, didn't eat lunch and breakfast was skimpy. lol   It's too late to eat lunch and too early for dinner.  I am craving some fresh green beans with bacon and onions.  Thanks, Dawn. lol

I have no chores. The house has to stay so thoroughly picked up for open houses that there literally isn't anything right now that needs doing, except to sit down and pay my bills.  I can't believe it's August already. I think tonight I'm going to use my Cenario's Pizza coupon - a large pepperoni and an order of garlic breadsticks for $9.99.

Oh man, that sounds so good. I'd probably pay for it later but it'd be worth it.

Have you had an open house yet? If so, did you get much traffic?

I just had a beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered. It was from one of our school sites and I thought that was really nice.

Not sure what to have for dinner but now that I'm done with pain meds, I can have a glass of wine.

First one was today.  The realtor said there was a lot of traffic (I didn't see any because Max and I were hiding out at my next door neighbor's house) but I suspect that most of it was neighbors wanting to see what the devil I took two years doing that couldn't have been done in about six months.  It's not up on MLS yet and I don't know how to post anything to the forum, but I'll e-mail you the photos that the realtor sent me. The photographer did an amazing job.  I'm really impressed with her work. Definitely, have that wine.  Have two big glasses.  You've earned it.
