Sometimes I just don't know about people... (pics of kitty pg2)

I would get him neutered as soon as he's healthy enough.  There's way too many stray cats to leave him out and able to breed.  I'd be glad to chip in for his Vet care.  Send me a pm.    Stupid people to leave him behind..... You're a sweetie to take responsibility.

Again, just want to say thank you to everyone...

I got some pictures of him.  He really is a freaking handsome cat...I would love to see what he looks like when he's healthy.  He looks like a really small female (and that's what I always assumed he was), but he's definitely not.  He does have some muscle around his shoulders but for the most part he's very bony and his fur (especially on his back) is very thin and wispy, like he's got zero undercoat.

I've been establishing an 'area' for him outside that he will hopefully claim as his "home" location - where I feed him and put some cozy bedding down and put his litter box outside (pointless I know lol, but he DID use it so I'm hoping if his smell is around the area it will help to enforce that it's his).  Hopefully I'll be able to move his papazon chair outside for now because he's definitely acting like he owns that Wink (which is fine by me, the thing was free anyways and it's falling apart).  I've had teh door to the porch open all day and he's wandered outside with me but returns to the porch when I go back inside.

He's hard to get pictures of because he's either sniffing around for food or at your feet trying to get your attention.  He's a real sweetheart...

    I love him already :\

Aw - what a sweet looking boy. I love black cats.

And yes - safeguard is ok for cats - it's the same as panacur - used to treat most worms, plus coccidia and giardia. I would choose that over pyrantal - just once a day for 3-5 days. PM me and I can give you some dosing info if you'd like.

I know it's expensive - but you'll want to get him tested for FIV/FLUK too at some point, and probably vaccinate him if he's going to be outside. I'd be happy to help chip in some too - I can't afford much, but the poor kitty deserves it.

     Ditto!  Love that first picture!

     He is extraordinarily handsome!

Not sure if anyone mentioned this already as I'm rushing thru a bit, but cats (and under nourished animals especially) need SMALL meals FREQUENTLY.  Feed him a little as often as you can, just like you do with a puppy who only has a small stomach, but needs lots of nourishment.  Smile

BLESS YOU for taking him in.  I am sure he won't be waiting for a home long.

Oh my gosh. His eyes!! Too bad you dont live near me. He could come live here.

What a CUTE cat! I don't think he'd be overlooked at a shelter, at all, with those eyes and pretty fur.

    Love this picture!

Just wanted to add. When I got my cat Dewey from the pound a few months ago I got him neutered 3 days later (pound did it for free) and he has never strayed from the house. I can go out any time of the day and he will be there at your feet. So hopefully when you get him neutered he'll stay on your porch like my Dewey does.

He's sooo cute, but I see calico in his coloring, My babycat's mom was a full black cat but with just a tiny spot of white on her chest, she was the best I had to put her down she got sick also she was a stray I took in found (pregnant no less) her a few days before halloween under my car I said oh no a bad sign but no she wasn't.

    I miss mamacat Sad

Be careful what you ask for. If you were to accidently have a po box to send money to in order to pay for transpo, you might just have a dark cat crossing your path.
