Mindless chatter Thursday

So I opened up the bathroom door and was charged by this flailing, wiggling, flopping, zooming beast in the dark. I totally SCREAMED!! It scared the. heck. out of me. DH came up the stairs behind Rupert aka the beast. Willa screamed, too. It was terrifying and hilarious at the same time! Then once she realized who it was, she was really excited. She pushed DH aside so she could get a better view of Rupert. LOL

Now that just cracks me up to imagine her pushing her daddy aside to see Rupert!  LOL

Tina, it was rough! The nights were very lonely. I was in the 4th of July Parade with our SAR team, and I had to "borrow" someone else's dog. She's a sweetie, but ugh - hair everywhere. Ick!

OMG - Janice, how did you survive 2 whole weeks without Rupert???

No kidding!! The story of the post-bath excitement really gave a smile though. How fun (once you realized who it was). I can just picture the look on Willa's face Big Smile

I went to Big Lots at lunch and bought a few things including a back of Chili Cheese Fritos. OMG - they are soooooo good.

Cathy, hope your surgery goes well -- good thoughts for you!

I have enchiladas in the oven... mmmmm!  I'm so hungry right now... been trying to eat "better" and lose about 7-8 lbs, but it's hard since part of it is eating healthier and part of it is eating less when I do eat bad stuff.  But, I'm way hungry by dinner time and i've been thinking about enchiladas all day.  I make them "fake" since I have a mexican coworker who says his mom's traditional mexican dishes call for a zillion ingredients, but I just use salsa and salsa con queso and wrap chicken in a burrito wrap and bake it with some cheese - mmmmm!  It's not the healthiest thing out there, but I could think of lots worse!

Anyone have any recommendations for good munchies?  We have a group of us from work who have "girls night" and now that we have the new house and can fit people, I wanted to host.  But, the other women are good cooks and enjoy good food and good wine, neither of which I really know anything about! Embarrassed  But, one is bringing fondue and the other some sort of fruit dish, and I'm sure lots of other stuff, so I don't need to feed everyone completely... it would just be nice to have something better than a bag of tortillas and a jar of salsa!

    Thank you!

I love enchiladas and that sounds delicious. I wish I could cook more authentic mexican food.

Speaking of mexican food...how about 7 layer dip and chips? Or maybe some of those little quiches you just bake and serve?

Deb, my mind is ALWAYS in the gutter.

I have to brag on my DH.  He was a bit of a jacka$$ yesterday, so he decided to make up for it today.  He called me this afternoon to let me know that he & the kids were going camping tonight & would meet me at the beach house tomorrow.  He told me that "everything is done" which usually means that he may have remembered to lock the doors when he left. Tongue Tied  I was expecting the worst when I got home, but instead I walked into a spotless house.  He bathed all of the dogs.  He cleaned the fridge.  He has almost everything already loaded into my vehicle.  He has all my clothes laid out so that all I have to do is put them in the suitcase.  He even made me a small batch of quesadillas for dinner!  He, literally, did everything.  He also scheduled a massage for a friend & I tomorrow morning.  He even prepaid it.  The card said "Because you've been stressed."  It was a reminder of how lucky I am to have him.

Absolutely worth bragging about and keep an eye on him. Guys like that aren't easy to find. You're a lucky lady :)

DH is working today and tomorrow and normally I love my alone time but I really miss him tonight (thanks Amanda). I'm off tomorrow and look forward to getting some stuff done. The tile cleaners are supposed to be here at 8, so I'll have to get cleaned up before they arrive. I hope they do a good job.

Jeez Amanda. I should strategically leave this page up on the computer for DH to see.

In regards to the hysterectomy recovery time, I did work with someone who had it done and I ran into her out shopping two days later. Not sure which way she had it done..I'd imagine vaginally, but I didn't really feel it an appropriate question to askStick out tongue  I'm sure there was a weigh restriction, but she certainly wasn't homebound and didn't seem at all uncomfortable. In fact, she casually mentioned that she'd even had surgery two days before, in the middle of an entirely different conversation

AMANDA--How did he do all that in one afternoon???  AWESOME.

A co-worker of mine had a hysterectomy and within a few days she went to see a concert.  She probably was overdoing it but she said she felt OK.
