So I bought the dogs a Tuffy toy based on the reccommendation from a woman with several Siberians.  She said their Tuffy is still intact a year later, and I thought, "ooh, finally a toy that will last!".

HA!  I did the same thing, based on the advice of some friends of mine whose boxers are all about stuffy destruction.  They raved about the Tuffy, so I spent the twenty-freakin'-bucks on the thing.  Harry had it open and partially de-stuffed within a half hour.

An extremely kind and wonderful iDogger sent B a Tuffy Ultimate Ring and stupid had it open in minutes.  I was so mad at him.  I just get stupid stuffies from Target like after Easter when the have a few things left at 90% off.   This Easter I got a handful of rabbits at 39 cents each.  I mean if it is going to blow in an instant and that is the whole enjoyment factor that is about all I'll spend LOL

Interestingly for him I have found if it is a small stuffie it lasts longer - go figure

Tina I am so enraged to hear about your son.  I don't have any comprehension of what sort of demented evil insecure miscreants do these things or have this blackness in their soul. And we sure seem to have our fair share of them.  I am sending him my strongest healing vibes for his body and soul.

I bought a rainbow bag of Twizzlers the other day - not as flavorful as I had hoped Sad

I need ice cream and I need it now Big Smile

Tina, I'm so sorry and so very angry to hear about your son.  I'd like to get my hands on those two guys and teach them a thing or two.

It finally stopped raining, but wow, we had major buckets of rain today!

Tina, I'm so, so sorry about your son. That makes me SO MAD. And right after his good news with the scholarship... it's just not right. Best wishes to him.

I've got cake, who has ice cream?  No, no bad, bad.  Going to eat some yummy carrot sticks instead.    ha, ha you don't believe that do you?

Twister, my 15lb dog can destroy a tuff toy in less than a day.  He does have some powerful jaws being a JRT but all my dogs are complete maniacs when it comes to any toy with fabric and stuffing.

Hey, where is Kate?  I just thought of Ben because he's so gentle on toys.  Her gorgeous puppy has stolen her away. lol

I've been wondering the same thing myself.  It seems like its been a long time since we've seen Kate, Ben or that gorgeous white fluffy pup.

Im gonna have cake AND icecream the 18th. Samantha's 4th bday party.Crying So sad thinking about her being 4.

I called the preschool today to get her signed up. She isnt eligible. WTH??? I thought preschool was for all 4 years old. Apparently they changed the rules. You now have to qualify for free lunch or reduced lunch OR be behind in things 4 year olds are supposed to be doing. I thought preschool was to get kids ready for going to elementary all day school. Im so mad. Now Im gonna have to hear for another year "when am I going to go to school?" from Samantha. She was really excited to go and now she cant.

I don't understand how qualifying for free or reduced lunch has anything to do with a child going to preschool?

    Hey, where is Kate?

I was wondering that myself the other day, thinking about how big Lumos must be now...

There seem to be a lot of people missing lately who usually post a lot.  They must all be summering at the same tropical resort and didn't invite the rest of us, lol. Crying

"Qualifying for free or reduced lunch" is essentially school-speak for "poor." And statistically, children from poorer households tend to do worse in school, so I'm guessing that the school district is trying to cut costs by restricting preschool to the students that they think "need it." As in, need more than the usual helping hand adjusting to a school environment. So I think that's the missing link.

Big big bummer... I hate seeing how many corners are being cut in education. Great, help the needier kids, that's wonderful and necessary - but don't do it at the expense of everyone else! "Normal" and "gifted" students need help to succeed, too!

Every time you hear people on the news, it sounds like money is just raining down from the sky onto education and childhood programs... and then we hear about people who can't get their kids into preschool, programs getting cut from public schools, teachers getting laid off left and right... so where does all this alleged education/childhood money go? Hmm Either it's not as expansive as some would like us to believe, or the money is not getting funneled where it should be!

I know!  I'm dying to see how much Lumos has grown, and to admire pictures of Ben of course.

Tina, I'm so sorry that happened to your son.  I hope that the other guys get what they deserve.

Jackie, I have ice cream.  Send the cake over!

Karen, please stop referring to my boy as "stupid."  He's much smarter than you give him credit for.  He, obviously, has you trained quite well!

Angel is a resource guarder.  Today, Bevo made it quite clear that he wasn't intimidated by her displays.  She swiped his stuffie, so he hopped up & went over to take it back.  He was met by a growling, snarling, Angel.  He looked at her, as if she were stupid, & reached down & took his stuffie back.  Angel had no clue how to respond.  She just sat there with a dumb look on her face.

Tuffies & Cuz are the only toys that survive here.  A tuffy will last us a month or more.

Oh, that would be too cruel. Crying

Kim, that makes no sense that Samantha doesn't qualify.  Maybe the person you spoke to doesn't know what they're talking about.  Does the school district have a website?  Maybe you can do some research on the preschool programs in your area.  We have pre kinder here and I guess that's before kindergarten and then first grade.  When I went to elementary school, you just, boom, started first grade, sink or swim.

Jackie, our public school systems are the same way with pre-k.

Tina, I'm so sorry about your son. What a couple of ignorant jerks. Was law enforement involved?

I took Willa to story time at the library today. She played with the other kids a bit, but mostly danced with a dolly. Confused I'm so not a girly-girl, but it was pretty cute.

Im not a girly-girl either but Samantha has fits to wear dresses every time we go out. I think they gave me the wrong kid at the hospital.Stick out tongue Im a jean and t-shirt kinda girl and my daughter wants to wear dresses?!!

Our school is like this. They offer preschool which is 4 days a week for 4 hours. Then there is also headstart which I dont know what that is but I am gonna look into tomorrow. We have kindergarten which is like preschool(learn the same things) but it's all day Mon-Friday. Kindergarten is in the elementary school grades kindergarten-4th grade. Middle school is 5-8th and high school is 9-12th. Senior year(12th) you have the option of going to the community college for classes or just go to high school for classes.

Apparently they changed the rules this year where you have to get free/reduced lunch or need some special attention to go to preschool. I think it's DUMB!!! My poor kid wants to go to school badly. She has been bugging me for the past year and now I have another year to wait. Wonder if I teach her colors wrong if she'd qualify then? Wink J/K! I wouldnt do that. But dang it why they gotta change the rules this year? Couldnt they wait till next year?
