So I ended up leaving early Friday (at noon) and am back for more fun today. Weekend weather was nice. I cleaned up my yard a little more, did some edging, etc. Spent part of Saturday on a ladder working on my house - my legs and feet are sore from that.
Went to the shelter yesterday. One of the other volunteers was walking a dog - she asked if I knew anything about him, said he seemed like the perfect dog for me. I still can't afford a dog right now, no matter how perfect. I'm bummed, but it is what it is. I sort of wish people would stop trying to help me get another dog.
I saw about Corgichick's friend being hit by a car. Hope she comes back with an update today.
My son has had some struggles and he finally got some good news last week - he's getting Pell Grant money for college that should cover his classes. Right now he's taking two summer classes and he's actually doing alright. It's not that he's dumb, but his bi-polar disorder as well as some stupid choices have, at times, inhibited his success rate.
So after my shelter trip yesterday, went home and got in the shower. I go to turn off the water, the little lever that makes the water come out of the showerhead instead of the faucet gets stuck. Okay, I almost always shower, not a big deal...until this morning. Turn on the water, it's barely coming out of the showerhead, pouring out of the faucet part, the lever is still stuck, and I can't get it to move. So I had to rinse my hair under the faucet part because it is long and thick and there wasn't enough coming out of the showerhead to really rinse it. Now I'm just getting more frustrated by the minute because I had to rinse the soap off me, too, under the faucet part as best as I can. I have a Shower Massage and like to take the thing and really rinse certain areas or I will get a rash and itch from the soap residue. Not like I can scratch at work, either...LOL. Now I'm faced with getting a plumber in to fix the darn thing because I'm not going to be able to fix it myself. Ugh. I'm not sure who thought home ownership was a good idea - seems like the more I fix, the more I need to fix. Bleh.
