I think I'm going to get my legs waxed before the surgery. Anyone know how long it lasts? Or how long I have to skip shaving before they can do it?

It lasts somewhere between 4-6 weeks, & the hair needs to be around 1/4 inch long so that the wax can grip it.

We went to a Cuban restaurant for lunch.  The food was ok.  The mojitos were awesome!

Thanks! I found a place right near my house - European Wax Center and I'm definitely going to get it done.

I would go absolutely nuts with my legs that hairy to get them waxed.  Creepy crawly feelings!

OK, my lack of intelligence struck again.  I get these danged wild hairs....today it was mulch.  oh, and Ace has all their plants at 50% off.  So I got some annuals and I got my 12 bags of mulch, promising myself I would wait until morning.  But....it'd be ok to just put the mulch in the already weeded areas.....and then it would look so much better if I put some of the flowers in....and then, the tomato, pepper area has very few weeds and I could take care of those and mulch there to help keep the water in the soil.....I believe that I probably sweat out every drop I've drunk in the past week.......

Support me guys?  Enable me?  Kick me in the ***?

I feel the same way Glenda but the alternative (I'm told) is that I won't be able to shave my legs for 2 weeks at least post-op. That will be much nastier. Besides that, I'm going to feel crappy enough at that time and I don't want to add hairy legs to the equation. I can have a 1/4 inch growth in probably 4-5 days, so it'll be ucky but fast. They also throw in a free under-arm wax for 1st time customers.

Regarding the crazy planting stuff. Come here and I'll give you a kick in the rear. It hasn't been so long ago that you felt like crap for a few days after doing too much in the hot sun. You can do just an hour or even less every day. It's not going anywhere Wink

You're right, and I know it.  But the wild hair just won't let me rest and the feet and the fingers get itchy....and I just can't force myself to use my brain!  My brain slaps me upside the head and the old body just goes and does it anyway......

I had been doing really well, but, dag nab it, I snapped today.......

Yes, you had to do it for the dogs, not for yourself but for Harry and Sammy, you selfless woman. Wink

See!  I knew someone would totally understand, lol.

Cathy, IMO you can't go wrong with a Toyota.  The 4Runner is nice, too.  My SIL has one and I drove it once, it's really nice.  The Highlander is built on a Camry chassis, so it's smoother like a car.  The 4Runner is on a Tacoma chassis, so rides more like a truck, but is still a very nice vehicle to drive.  My brother got a Tundra last fall, and it's the double cab.  The backseat is very roomy, so if your hubby is thinking about a truck, he should check them out.  That V8 the Tundras have....ohhhh, sweet engines!  I come from a car family, so I know a little bit about them.

Oh, this ticked me off yesterday at the dealership.  Once we had finished the haggling and found out we could get a decent APR on financing (fyi-being pre-approved by my credit union totally helped me get a better interest rate at the dealership), I sent BF home to take care of the dogs.  After the paperwork was done, the salesman was showing me how to work all the controls, etc in the car, and he was showing me where everything was located under the hood.  He said, there's the dipstick, your boyfriend can take care of that for you.  WTF?!  I said, "Excuse me, but not only am I capable of checking my own oil, I could change it myself, too, thank you very much!"  Ugh, some men will just never get over that crap, lol!

I spent a good chunk of the on a stadium light pole. The only way to get up there is about a 90 foot free climb on the pegs. I wear a safety harness with a lanyard to the zip-line but the only stop there is is halfway and it's made of plastic. So, you just have to keep on going on before your arms get too tired. I haven't worked that height before and it kicked my butt getting up there. What we really need is ascender clips that act like a one-way grip so that if you do fall, you don't fall to far.

Then, with the rope you brought up, you have to hoist everything up to you. We were replacing the original SO cord with liquidtite flex and wire. I got three heads done and we were supposed to get the whole pole done today. I had a problem with the rope, it tangled on descent and then latched itself onto the climbing pegs. I tried fishing it off of there and that just resulted in a tighter knot. So, I had to climb halfway down and undo it and then go back up again and start over, after untangling the gordian knot.

It was approaching 100 F and the heat was beating me up. My apprentice has never worked any height over 12 feet. He gave it an effort. He got almost halfway up the pole and lost his nerve. It was safer for him to go back down before his arms got tired and he would have froze.

Once you are in the cage up top, it's not so bad and you get used to the pole swaying whenever you move. Then, I was ready to get down before I was too tired. Plus someone told me the lights were 1 phase 277 so I spent useless time buying wire for a neutral. It turns out the heads are 1 phase 480, which is just two hots and a ground.

Needless to say, the boss was not happy and I will probably have to go back there tomorrow. The height itself is not what's bad. It's that hair-raising ascent and descent where I have to talk to myself to get through it. "Others have done this and so can you." I thought the 60 foot bucket truck was high enough. This will put hair on your chest and cost you a liter of water in sweating buckets. I don't really like it at all but it pays.

Wow...sounds like maybe you should pee on a stick!  Those were my very first symptoms!

Ron, that sounds like a really scary climb!

I have a 4Runner and I really love it!  Sometimes I wish it was a little bigger but really in the big scheme of things, it is plenty of room.

I am off for the rest of the week and oh so happy about it!

When I was preggo with Willa, my first symptoms were insta-grow boobs and peeing every 15 minutes. I don't have any of that. Oy! I'm not getting too worried yet. I mean, if I was pregnant I'd be super happy, but I didn't want to start trying until the fall. Having a brand new baby in the winter in WI sucked. Plus we're not exactly financially stable right now with me being out of work.

Sometimes I just read the mindless chatter and don't comment but you bet I have a blast... the amount of things I learn about northamerican culture is amazing and also I realize I'm not so different sometimes.

Heather congrats on the new car it looks beautiful!! Can't wait to see some pics of Sammy and Harry in there.

About the "hairy legs" (for me the words "fairy" and "hairy" are so similar, I always have to think, but I gues everybody wants to have "fairy legs";), I use a depilator and it lasts a lot and doesn't hurt my legs or armpits...

Jano, how exciting!... we will try to get pregnant in the fall for the same reason, I guess Thor would need advice from Rupert and all the doggies with babies around.
