    Uh....Glenda?  Wrong thread maybe?

Wrong thread but it still applies to this situation to some extent, IMO.

I'm really sorry if I'm offensive, but it does seem to me that this problem will not resolve until HE takes the first step.

I think Candace said wrong thread b/c some of the things sound like the were meant for Kim in her thread about JJ.  I don't think what you said was offensive.

Yeah but Kitty doesn't have a child... does she?!!!!

Hey, wait, is there something you're not telling us...?!

    • Gold Top Dog

Didn't THIS OP have two threads going?  Isn't this Samantha's mom?  The heat may be melting my brain cells......

    • Gold Top Dog

Nope Glenda.  This is Kitty, Oranges81's thread.  The other one is KLE's (Kim's) thread.  JJ is not disabled, as far as I know...but ya, two totally different couples.  Don't worry, I think the heat has been getting to everyone.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh man, what a dope I am.  I think the heat really HAS melted my brain.  But I do stand by the "getting over" what he doesn't have, and counting his blessings for what he DOES have.

How's that for extracting my foot from my mouth? Embarrassed

    • Gold Top Dog

Don't worry Glenda, I mixed up a little both threads, saying that Alex (Kitty's BF) was almost 30 which actually was JJ Confused

Anyway, I wish both problems solve in a good way for everyone. Smile

    • Gold Top Dog

I agree, but in BOTH cases, the gals have got to get over the idea that they can "fix" things...the man, the relationship, etc.  It's gotta start with HIM.

If a wheelchair isn't an option, would he be open to trying one of those nifty motorized scooters?  I see them advertise the *scooter store* on TV all the time.  They look like they're pretty comfortable and nobody would have to push it.

    Joyce

    • Gold Top Dog

That's a great idea Joyce, but I'd almost be willing to bet that would scare the bejesus out of the poor guy.  Mom really NEEDED her walker when she first went into the nursing home/assisted living, but she HATED it. Wouldn't even go to Church because she didn't want to be seen using it.

Sadly, a lot of people with handicaps don't want to show any evidence of that in the form of aids.  It's really too bad, because using those things could really enhance their lives.

As soon as I know, You'll know. Lol No I don't have a child. But I get what ya'll are saying. Alex does want to get out and do stuff, but he feels that just cuz he can't keep up with what I do then I don't want to do anything with him. I was thinking if I gave him some ideas that we BOTH could do then it'd show him that I do want his company.  If that made any sense at all.. Lol

    • Gold Top Dog

It does make sense.  Tons of sense.  It'd be kind of like going golfing with a pro when you've never golfed before in your life.  You'd have to know they really wanted you there.  (stupid analogy, I know, but I've really wanted to take up golfing lately...) hey, what about golf?  I suppose its rather expensive, but you could rent a cart and drive the course...if you were here, I'd talk my dad into lending you his cart...

    • Gold Top Dog

Ugh.. Golfing.. Lol. He enjoys it but I can't stand it. Although maybe if I brought a book along.. Then again, him cussing and freaking out over loosing his ball could be entertaining.. Lol!
