Mindless chatter Tuesday

Came into work this morning to discover the owner meeting got moved from tomorrow to today. We can wear jeans to work, but when the guys are here I try to dress up a little more. So here I am in my jeans, a polo, and casual sandals. And to top it off, some corporate guys are coming in, too. Tongue Tied

Yesterday for lunch I brought salad and cherries. I'm not sure if it was the cherries or the broccoflower in the salad, but I was miserable with...gas pains. So today I brought yogurt w/blueberries and a granola bar. But I ate some cherries this morning and feel the gas building - and with extra people in the office today, just my luck. Sheesh! Confused

Meg, I hope your interview goes well. Something will turn up, I'm sure.

My favorite co-worker's birthday is today. Some people she knows just came in singing and with flowers. Of course, they're going on as if nobody is here - loud, etc. Umm...this is still an office - and the bosses are here. Take it outside or to the coffee shop next door.

Anyway, better get to the grind.

Gosh, I THINK it's Tuesday. Days just all run together when you don't get a weekend ever.......

I have NOTHING to do today. My house is squeaky clean, my pictures all reframed and hung, boxes of odds and ends are sorted and put away.....I actually feel like I accomplished something yesterday.

I think that today I'll rescreen two of the RV screens and depending on the heat, maybe I'll get the screen door done too. I'm really trying to avoid overheating right now, so we shall see. The window screens are out and I can just do those in the house. I need to come up with a brillant plan for my overcrowded pan cupboard too.......I keep thinking, gee when my furniture is here I'll have more room to put stuff away, BUT when my furniture is here I'll also have more STUFF to put in it. So I really need to make the best possible use of every square inch I've got in my smallish kitchen. The few casserole dishes that I have here NOW, yeah, those would fit in the bottom of the china cabinet.....and give my pans more room, but I have a hellish number of casserole dishes and they won't ALL fit there.......so just have to come up with a decent plan. Shoot, I just got done saying I have nothing to do, didn't I? Keep coming up with stuff to keep me busy!

I must be nuts.....

Last night I got fed up with my hair, it was so long that when I walk dogs or exercise my ponytail is always coming loose. Also it takes forever to dry and brush. So, I went to the salon and got it hacked off. Feels soooo much better! Took less than 2 minutes to blow dry this morning and now that it's layered I don't really have to do anything to it for a while. The stylist I had this time was really good. No small talk, in and out in 30 minutes. She did exactly what I wanted. My usual stylist always wants to chat, she never cuts it short enough, and she spends about 45 minutes styling my hair after I already said I'm going to work out. So, I think I'm switching. I'll just have to remember to go on Mondays so the previous stylist isn't there.

Then I went to Old Navy b/c it's in the same mall. I got some bad news from a friend so I needed shopping therapy! I found this cute top but I still don't know if it's a tank top or dress or both..... All the men's clothes are half off so I ended up buying shirts for DH, nothing for me but black flipflops since Nikon has chewed through two of the same pair already.

I'm so tired b/c DH keeps having anxiety attacks in the middle of the night. He hasn't had a seizure in like 3 years but sometimes he falls asleep with his hand under his pillow and when he wakes up, it's tingling and he totally freaks out (b/c when he has a seizure it starts in his right hand). Now he has had this panic attack twice in one week. I have to wake up and basically wake him up and show him his hand is just asleep. Then Coke decided to sleep ON my back, which sorta felt nice b/c I was cold but he's not exactly a small dog!

I so need a hair cut too. I just don't want to spend the money. Why is it so hard for me to spend money on something like that?

My rose bushes are all taking root and are starting to spread out and fill in! I brought some pink "simplicity" rose flowers in to work with me today. I like this bush because the scent is not as strong. This is what a rose should smell like imo. I could sit here and sniff it all day. I caught a Japanese beetle around my roses this morning though. Those things are the devil. I read that marigold's keep them away so I did plant a bunch of those around one of my other flower beds. Looks like I need to plant some more.

Mr. Man (the stray aussie) is going away tonight. He's going to a temp home over night to be picked up by transport tomorrow morning, then taken to Cadillac for vetting and to stay while he heals from neutering, then it's off to Traverse City to a foster home. It's a good thing too because he's starting to follow one of my female (unfixed) aussies around with too much interest. That's all I need is puppies!

Yesterday was flat out non stop business. Today is going to be the same. I'm almost considering cancelling herding tonight so I can just stay home and relax.

Why is it so hard for me to spend money on something like that?

I'm the same way, I try to tell myself that I'll be happy I did but it still is hard for me to do so. I got some highlights a few weeks back and it is soooooo much better, yet it took me ages to get around to it. I told myself never again but we'll see.

Holy poop is it raining here - since the middle of the night - hurricane/ts like rain but with mild breezes. I'd hesitate to say how much has fallen since it started but I think by the end of it we are looking at 5-7 inches easy. B's water bowl was overflowing at 8 am and I think that is like 4 inches deep and started empty. All I want to do is sleep.

I was finally going to golf this morning and that's off. B has been a nuisance all morning because he is used to his morning exercise he is now laying behind me staring at me Devil

well lots to do but how in the world am I going to stay awake?? I've had 4 cups of coffee already LOL

The headline on NJ's largest newspaper was "Will It Ever Stop Raining?" this morning. Plus northern NJ got like a foot of hail yesterday !! WTH ???

I am so done with this weather. Angry

Going tanning and getting a mani/pedi later on so that should improve my very foul mood until the sun comes out again.

Poor Jamison is going nuts too - he HATES the rain and won't even go out in it - sheesh enough already !!!

Came in to work early today. I was working on an assignment that I got a month or so ago (it gets put to the side if anything else comes in, bottom of the list in importance). So I'm doing my thing and a while later a co-worker walks by, sees what's on my screen and says "What are you doing w/ that." To which I respond that I'm just changing a note. He points to the note and says "this one?" Um, yea..... He takes me back to his desk and hands me a folder that contains......THE SAME ASSIGNMENT! Our boss had given it to him last November and then forgot and gave it to me. So almost everything I've done w/ it was wasted time and I have to go BACK and redo most of the drawing changes. On the bright side, he'd done the paper work, which I hadn't started yet. Its just so rediculous.

ETA: Megan, good luck w/ the interview!

It's not even the hot part of the year yet.

I have a plan for the pan cupboard. Here's hoping it actually works the way I'm thinking it will......

LOL - that's usually my luck.

The guy who's going to fill in for me when I have my surgery stopped by yesterday to pick up the fingerprint documents. He's a family friend of the boss and probably about 25 or 26 y.o. It just cracks me up to think of him doing this job but I'm glad to have someone to fill in.

I was up for a couple hours in the middle of the night. I don't think I was hungry but had a couple of cookies, watched some insomniac tv and went back to bed around 2. It's going to be a long day Sleep

I'm the same way, that's why I only get one once every 6 months or so. It was $35 and I gave her $42 (no idea what tips are these days) and it feels worth it already! Less shampoo and a LOT less time drying and brushing.
