Mindless Chatter Saturday

    Mindless Chatter Saturday

We are off to the Farmer's Market again a little later.  First a walk while it's cool.  I started this today mostly because a picture of Heidi with an alligator toy made me think of Kate and Ben which made me think, "where IS Kate and Ben and that adorable puppy Lumos??

We have been eating tomatoes every day from our plants.  Yum. I bought two small basil plants too and there really is nothing better than a baguette sliced, toasted and topped with homegrown tomatoes and basil.

Have a good day everyone.  Get your chores done early and go play!

*yawm* The dogs were hovering around me this morning waiting for the slightest sign that I was awake. Who can sleep through that?

Today is going to be a major spring clean, yard work, house work, clean the car out day. I doubt I'll get it all done but at least I can make a dent in it.

I read my entire Roses of Michigan book last night (boy does that sound like a great friday night eh? lol). I can't wait for my rose bushes to start blooming!

I can't wait for my rose bushes to start blooming!

I bought my first rose bush this year and it is blooming like crazy!  It isn't the typical kind.  It is called a double knockout and boy is it bright and vibrant.  It was one that I could put in a big pot instead of the ground so I have it on my driveway, so it greats me with it's bright fushia/pink blooms when I drive up.

Devin has an exercauser and a doorway jumper but I debated for weeks about getting her a stationary jumperoo which is more stable that the doorway jumper.  I discussed with hubby who suprisingly was for it, and got one yesterday.  OH.MY.GOSH!  That baby bounces nonstop from the moment you put her in it until you take her out.  She loves it and is so content bouncing away!  She hasn't even bothered to play with the toys on it yet!  Hubby immedietly said he was so glad I got it!  It is well worth the amount of space we had to give up to accomodate it!

I noticed it was cool too!  I know it is going to be a hot one though and since the A/C is under the weather right now I will be running all the fans on full blast all day!

I love the farmers market but never make it!  I really should go more often.  My parent's go every Saturday and sometimes my mom calls me to go pick up her stuff that they hold each week.  As much as I complain about it, I always find something good while I am there.

Julie, I feel your pain!  DH & the kids are off camping this weekend.  They took "the girls" (Chyna, Brinxx, & Schatzi) with them, & I'm left with "the boys."  I was awakened to Brutus' head, & wet, slobbery lips resting on my shoulder.  When I opened my eyes, Bevo's nose was about an inch from my nose, & he was staring.  I decided to go ahead & get up so that we could walk to the lake for their morning swim before it got hot, or the lake got too crowded.

We have to run to the farmer's market this morning, & then Brutus & I have class.  He's learning much quicker than I had expected.  He has heel, sit, down, & wait down pat.  His recall is very sketchy, so that's what we are going to concentrate on for the next week.  I forgot how much more stubborn Boxers are when compared to Dobes.

boneyjean, this is a new Farmer's Market and we have been every Saturday since they opened.  We just love it!  I also am a huge fan of the Knockout roses.  I have mine in pots too and they bloom like crazy and are really low maintenance considering they are roses.

It was very nice on our walk, the dogs were frisking around like puppies.  It is going to be hot soon and I am trying to get DH moving a little faster so we can leave for the market. He tends to be a slow poke.

I can just picture little Devin bouncing like a jack in the box!  LOL

We're having a house warming party today :)  Some friends from out-of-town that I went to college with, some of our co-workers and local friends.  About 30 people in total.  I'm excited!

.... except for the one friend who came from CT.  He brought his "new" girlfriend and since Thursday afternoon, I've seen him less than an hour.  They disappeared upstairs to relax or whatever thursday night, friday other friends came in from michigan and iowa and DH and I worked half days and met up with them.  The first two were off "adventuring" on their own in Pittsburgh.  They got back around 9 at night, beat, and went straight to bed.  They've also gone off this morning after begging DH for a ride to the gym, of all places.

DH had arranged for them to go to a gym at his work Friday work, but then they decided they were too tired and didn't want to get up.  So they they took a cab to a gym around here yesterday!  Then, they were so tired that they called us to pick them up after they went to the gym and the mall (but we had 5 people and a dog in a small sedan so we couldn't until we dropped some off) and THREE times in the 5 min conversation he asked me to HURRY it up, THEY wanted to get back!?!?!?!  I wanted to leave him there, honestly.

When they are here, all they do is complain about having just come back from a vaca in Hawaii and how difficult two back-to-back vacations are!

I kind of want to strangle my friend, but I figure, if I do that, he can't go home tomorrow.  At least if he's left in one piece, he's gone tomorrow!  Wish me luck today that having all these other people will distract me from screaming at him over how rude he's being.  to top it off, his gf is vegetarian/vegan and won't eat ANYTHING so he spends all his time and energy trying to accomodate her -- we've gone to the grocery store, but the only thing good enough for her is a $5 box of pasta.

But, it's a beautiful day and I have lots of GOOD friends coming over, so I'm going to enjoy the good food and the good company  Stick out tongue

I have to drag myself away from the wonderland I have in the back yard.  This morning I watched Mr and Mrs Blue Bird checking out the various houses hanging on one side of the garage, deciding which they liked best.  We have a cardinal nest in a bush right off the patio, blue jays, thrashers, all sorts of different birds and it's so cool to watch them in the morning.  Baby bunnies and squirrels too, so never a dull moment sitting on the deck!  If I could just turn the heat down a bit.........

Nicole, I would have left them, or dropped them off somewhere in hopes that they wouldn't find their way back! Devil  I hope that your house warming party goes well!

Thank you!  Thankfully, we have some nice, wonderful other friends staying with us so that does help.  Especially since we've all known each other for 7 years so we can all complain about the other folks together.  He was so rude to me last night that I was considering just dropping them at the airport instead of the gym.  Oops.  Told you that I didn't know my way around all too well!  Might as well just stay here until your flight. Yes

They may not make it back here after their trip to the gym... we have people coming shortly, and lots of preparation (that doesn't involve playing on idog) to worry about picking their sorry butts back up.

When I hung my clothes out on the line this morning, I didn't expect to be attacked by birds! They must have a nest near by and protecting it. I ran away like a little chicken at first, then had Lily come with me so she could distract them and I could hang the clothes out. It's going to be like this all day because I have tons of laundry! The dang things were swooping down right above my head! They didn't come near when Lily was around, so she'll have to be my laundry buddy today. Wink

I kind of miss the puppy. I had him all afternoon yesterday and Lily tuckered him out! I forgot what it was like having a puppy in the house. The minute he woke from his nap he had to pee and you don't even have time to put your shoes on to take him out, you gotta run! He's so cute and cuddly though.

I've been on this rabbit kick. I really want a rabbit. Our local humane society has some that were taken from someones home. They have this lion type one that looks like he has a lion mane. He's adorable. But what would I do with a rabbit? I don't know, but I've been thinking about it. I'd just like to give him a good home I guess. I'll have to do some research on rabbits.

Only 24 days until we have to move. It's coming so fast! Yikes....

Ya, so I flat out refused to get up when the girls first decided it was time to get out of bed this morning.  That was at 5.  Tyler had to work early this morning and he's usually the one to get up with them so my body is soooo not used to it.  He left giggling to himself, something about now you know what its like, yada yada yada.  Well, like I said, I flat out refused.  Kali came and climbed into my bed with me and I told her if she was going to be there, she had to be quiet and still.  Kelci made noise for all of 10 minutes and then silence.  Kali fell back to sleep.  Now I'm up and they are still in bed.  I think Kelci is starting to chatter, so I'll go get her, but its 9:30 now.  Much more acceptable for a Saturday morning.  Kali is still asleep.

I might add that Kali woke up whiny first thing.  That's my cue for bedtime in my kids.  Whiny kids need sleep.  Apparently I was right.

It's cool and cloudy here this morning but should hit 80 by this afternoon.

I think we're going to have to break down and go bed shopping AGAIN. This piece of junk we paid way too much for is just unbearable for both of us. I wake up achey almost every morning but DH really wakes up in pain. When he's at work, his back feels fine for those 2 nights, so it's definitely the bed. I think we should go with the sleep # bed but DH is hesitant to spend that much and end up not liking it.

Union voted down the city's offer yesterday so now we wait to see if they can work out a better/different deal. Supposedly they were going to head back to the table last night.

today is my first free day since LAST week thursday. did overtime until at least 10 pm every day this week. we had a big event for 450 people yesterday. i worked straight through from thursday morning to friday 7pm with barely enough time to run home to take a shower and pick up my company uniform. after i got home yesterday i didnt even make it to the bed. i fell asleep on the sofa and slept 12 hours straight. it was good that i had my sister stay at my house, so i didnt have to worry about the dogs. my legs are still pretty sore and my neck is stiff from sleeping on my tiny sofa for so long, but other than that life is good.

i like being busy though. all i need now is to find a dog sitter...
