    ultrasound results - need prayers and good vibes please - Updated 5/20/09

    My Dr. just called me. I knew that his calling so fast wasn't good news since I wasn't expecting to hear at least until tomorrow. Turns out that my fears about what the 2 ultrasound technicians were acting so strange about was real. I have a 10 cm ovarian cyst. He wants me to go have the cancer blood test (CA 125) today and he'll know the results on Thurs. If it's high, he'll refer me to a gyn oncologist. Please say tons of prayers that this isn't cancer. It's a fear I'd lived with all my life because of my mom and I'd put the fears aside when I had the genetic testing done and it was negative. Regardless of the results of the CA 125, I want the ovaries out. I mentioned that to the Dr. and he said we can't even talk about that until we get the bloodwork done. It's going to be a very difficult couple of days but I'm going to try to keep busy, busy, busy.

    Cathy, I'm so, so sorry you're having to deal with this.  I know this isn't what anyone wanted to hear.  For sure you'll have our prayers and good wishes and if your worst fears are realized, then at least everything is being dealt with early.

    Cathy, I'm so sorry to hear this news.  I must've missed an earlier post about what led you to have the ultrasound.  Waiting for results is agonizing, especially if one is prone to catastrophic thinking (which I am).  You can do your best to stay as busy and positive as possible, but I can only imagine the worry in the back of your mind.

    Sending plenty of good thoughts and vibes your way, with fingers crossed that you receive good news from the test results.  I don't check the forum as often as I used to, but I'll be looking for an update from you.  Take care!

    Cathy -- prayers and good thots of course (there goes another sticky on my printer!!).  I understand completely -- and remember, a lot of ovarian cysts are just ... ovarian cysts.

    Cathy I am thinking of you and sending good positive thoughts your way for sure! ((hug))

    Please take a couple deep breaths and don't let yourself imagine the worst.  Envision a nice healthy test result.  And, if you are going to ditch the ovaries, might as well loose all the plumbing at the same time.  I had my hysterectomy done way back when the "band aid" surgery was still pretty new, but now it's an in and out thing.  Not trying to put the cart before the horse, but by golly, if you want those ovaries gone, the doc should accomodate you.

    You will be in our thoughts and prayers, and sending out some really STRONG healthy vibes your way.  (((Hugs)))

    I second that very strongly!  Cathy sending my very best and strongest vibes! Think and be positive!  I feel confident that it will be cancer free and you will be able to have a hysterectomy and move on!

    Oh Cathy, I am so sorry to hear this.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.  Like Callie said, try not to imagine the worst, it could very well be an ovarian cyst.  {{{{ Hugs }}}}

    I second removing ALL the plumbing if you are going to opt to remove the ovaries.  If you are finished making babies, take it all O.U.T.

    I dealt with a multitude of plumbing problems in my 20s and 30s including numerous ovarian cysts.  Finally, at age 37 I opted for a hysterectomy.  At that point I only had 1/4 of 1 ovary left...so what the hec was the point...took it all out; and have been much better off without it.  I took hormones for a few years afterwards and boy what a difference that made for me.  No more depression was the biggest and best thing that happened to me afterwards.

    Sending you many many virtual hugs and well wishes as you go though this.  Good vibes on a daily basis to you from me.  I agree....positive thinking enables positive results.   [[[[hugs]]]]

    Lots of prayers and good vibes.  FWIW, one of my friends has just been through the same thing.  Hers turned out to be just a cyst, and I'll pray that yours does, too.
