Mindless Thursday chatter

I remember that someone on this board had it.  I was thinking about doing a search.

3 weeks!  Oh good grief.  That's a long time for this agony.  And, I have a high tolerance for pain.  Tongue Tied

I was going to post something else but whatever it was flew right out of my brain and into space.....

eta: Cathy, I think Lori had/has them recently too.

LOL - I'm glad it's not just me who has stuff flying right out of their head. It's scary!!

Don't you hate that?!?  Hey, I have a valid excuse for stuff flying out of my head now...Tylenol 3.  LOL

I can't stop thinking about how excited I am to move in with boyfriend.  Not excited about actually moving AGAIN (this is #7 in the past 10 years!) but I am so very, very ready to start a more 'advanced' stage in our relationship.  And this proves to me he is too.  Such a change of pace and attitude from past boyfriends!

Really the only thing I'm concerned about is how the dogs are going to get along.  It's just going to be a huge adjustment for Joe.  He is such a happy-go-lucky guy and generally lets things roll off his back but Zeus is a very strong personality.  James says Zeus doesn't play with other dogs, and I've noticed that, but Joey likes to play.  Zeus isn't allowed to play with the toys Joey loves (tears them up and eats them) and Joey could care less about balls, which are crack to Zeus.  Tuesday night, I took Joe over for the second time and it went okay.  Zeus was growly but there wasn't any snapping or ugliness.  Everything will probably be okay, I just worry.

Aw Amy, I'm so happy for you.  It'll all work out.  Congrats, this is a big step in the right direction.

When I was visiting my friend in Florida we seemed to do it constantly. Some of it's an age thing but I also think that we had so much we wanted to say and share that our brains overloaded and went haywire at times. Fortunately, we both have a great sense of humor, so it kept us laughing. A couple times we were laughing so hard I thought we'd get into a car accident Big Smile

Barbara, I have a very high pain tolerance too and this was really pushing me to the limit.  I will say that the pain seemed to lessen toward the third week.  I  did a little research when I was diagnosed and some people have pain for much longer but I truly believe that the anti viral lessened the duration.  Believe it or not I did sort of get used to the pain, it was just something that was there and I had to live with it.  DH was very good about it because I would put on a brave face at work and be a real witch at home. Angry  Poor guy.

Hooray! That's exciting :) I moved in with BF three years ago and it's pretty nice. He doesn't even leave the toilet seat up anymore. (LAWD, it's been 3 years, that means November will be SIX years, together...oy) Lately he's thought it was OK to pee while I brush my teeth, if I'm in there and he doesn't feel like waiting. Boys.

I wish Dunkin Donuts would go back to doing 99 cent iced latte's during the week - $3 is too much but they are soooo gooood. I stopped on my way home from the library. The library has books on CD! I checked out a Judy Picoult one.

Shoot!  I wish Dunkin Donuts would set up shop near here.  I'm sick to death of Starbucks coffee and their gawdawful prices, too.  There isn't a Dunkins within 50 miles.

Cathy - hope Sassy is just fine.  Good luck tomorrow with the ultrasound.

Sister's dog has signs of hypothyroidism, so I get to take him in for another blood draw.  The jury is still out on whether his ACL is torn or not.  For a 9yr old dog, they say he's in excellent health, though, so that's good.

Thank you! To say I'm a bit distracted is a huge understatement today. I actually gave a guy the cellphone # for my boss a few min's ago. A minute or so later, my cellphone rang and it was the same guy. I was like "why are you calling me on my cellphone?" and then realized what I'd done. Embarrassed

FINALLY I'm going to get my car fixed. AAA has managed to drag their feet on this for almost 2 months but they're finally sending the stuff to the body shop, so I can get it taken care of. It took me calling the body shop and getting them to start pushing from their end. Grrrrrrrrrrr Super Angry

I've lived with two boyfriends before so actually living with a man isn't new to me.  (I kinda forced myself into living with those two.  Obviously it didn't work out so I promised myself I wouldn't live with another man who didn't invite me into his home of his own free will.)  I think 'sharing' will be more of a change for him than me but he's welcoming it with open arms so I am highly optimistic about our future.  I wonder if the fact that his parents, grandma and friends all love me has anything to do with his decision Wink.

No darned Dunkin anyplace I can find in the Panhandle.

Shingles absolutely suck.  Be sure to ask your doc to put a refill on your RX, and mine always orders me 3 extra pills so that when I get the first symptoms...for me an ache in my leg and the feeling that ants are crawling under my skin....I start my "leftovers" and call in for a refill.  Usually within 2-3 days I'm in good shape....it's still there, but the agoney is gone.  Lysine does help, as does extra vitamin C.  Stress is what mostly triggers it for me.

We looked at a house today that I adore!  3 bdrm/2 bath with a bonus room at the back and a "garage" behind everything (but connected with a deck and wooden walkway) where the washer dryer hookup is.  Funky garage, but a great workshop and storage area.  The owners live in England and the daughter rents it out for them.

ETA:  Forgot to mention.....it's on 3.5 acres.....

    • Gold Top Dog

Glenda - that house sounds perfect and 3.5 acres will seem like paradise for you all. The dogs will love it. Are you going to take it? I'm so excited for you guys.

    • Gold Top Dog

Cathy, good vibes for you and Sassy both. Glenda, good luck with that house.  It sounds ideal for lots of puppers.  I feel like such a klutz.  I have this little area in the back yard where the sliding windows in the dining room and bedroom come together ... not sure whether it's a very small deck or a very large step.  Anyway, awhile back I had it tiled in natural stone which must be the hardest substance on the planet.  I caught the toe of my sandal going up the step yesterday and smacked my right knee on the stone and about an hour later it looked like I was growing a baseball on my knee.  I just elevated it and kept a bag of ice on it most of the night.  It's still sore and swollen today, but not nearly as bad as it was last night. Can't even blame Max for that one.  He was over at the fence eyeing a squirrel.

Starbucks and beaners are the devil. $3 min for a small cup of bad coffee. What a rip off.

Busy day here today. I spent at least 2 hours cleaning up my email at work. They restricted the amount of space we can have for emails so now we have to spend several hours per week weeding things out so our boxes don't get full. We can't sent mail if our boxes are full. Smart people who ever came up with this idea. Try to save money but decrease the production of several hundred employees!

I took the fosters to their very first obed. class this week. They were clueless. It too the entire session to get them to sit. They would not sit for nothing. They were a little unnerved by all of the other dogs and people though.

I took lily to her tracking class. She is really good at it. I might have to look more closely at sar.

Nothing on tv tonight! Maybe I will go to bed early!
