Mindless Chatter, Freakin' Friday!

Can you telecommute on Fridays?  That way you can still work regular 8-hour days.  Look into whether or not your state offers incentives to employers who allow their workers to telecommute.  Georgia does...I would be shocked if California didn't, considering the pollution.

OMG, I am doubly excited now.  Some of you know, my BF and I bought the Atlanta division of the company we work for back in January.  Things have been going great, BTW.  Today our brand-spanking-new website went live!!  My best friend works for an advertising company; they did the site for us.  I think it's awesome!

Heather, save me a seat at the table and make me a reservation for the pedi/mani cure too!!  You guys are great to do that for the Mom's in the family. :)

I am glad it's Friday too.  Our visiting Weim, Ruger, is having a blast with our dogs.  Especially Belle, she loves to play rough and Ruger is enjoying a doggie friend with his play style.  He shares a home with a BC but that dog is all about the cattle work and pretty much tells him to get a job. lol  We are going up to visit some friends tomorrow and will take all the dogs.  Should be fun and crazy.  They have a pool and it will be Belles second time around a pool.  She fell in the first time but it didn't scare her, nothing really scares Belle.  Twister doesn't do water sports at all.  He will get in the water up to his little knees and chase minnows around but he thinks dogs belong on land.  He would never consider getting in the pool.

Tina, I hope you can get your son settled somewhere.  I can't imagine how hard it is to deal with this and you have my admiration for your strength.

ok I need to get productive today.

I need to go grocery shopping, stop by my office, finish up laundry, SWEEP and exercise dogs.

Instead I've wasting the day away

I really wish I could but most of the work I do requires me to have access to all the files here. I can do some work from home but not enough to fill up a day.

I'm sooooo ticked right now. Not sure anyone remembers the minor fender bender I had almost 6 wks ago. A girl hit me from behind at a stoplight. I was waiting for her insurance, AAA, to come thru and they'd told me they were having trouble getting ahold of her. I've been patient because the auto body repair place said that AAA would likely agree to replace the bumper but State Farm (my insurance) would want to repair it. It's a 2007 Lexus and I want the bumper replaced not patched up, so I was waiting. Well, I called AAA today and they said "there's an issue with the coverage". She wouldn't tell me more but it seems clear to me that the person hadn't been paying her bill. I called State Farm and they called AAA and they said they'd have an answer Mon or Tues. Wow, I can't even believe how ridiculous this had been.

Oh, man, I know how frustrating it is dealing with insurance companies.  Been there!  Hope everything works out for you.

That would have me steaming too!  And why the heck has it taken them six weeks to figure out there's a problem??!!

I have a feeling that having State Farm call them got things moving. The AAA agent just called and said that her supervisor approved the coverage and claim. It makes me wonder how much of an "issue" there ever really was. Super Angry

my lawyer emailed me a copy of my divorce decree... signed by the judge and stamped at the court house. so it is official!

Yep, now you'll be able to enjoy the same dilemma I had yesterday.  I go to the doctor, have to fill out paperwork.  Standard question - are you single, married, divorced, or widowed?  Okay, so I was divorced 11 years ago, but after about the year 2000, I put myself down as single, not divorced.  What's the diff?  At what point is it appropriate to label oneself single again? Confused

there should be an all of the above choice i think. :D

That sounds about right.  Pfft.  They drag their feet hoping you'll eventually give up.  Your carrier can and did act as an advocate for you, so that's awesome!  I had to do the same thing a couple years ago.  Person at fault's carrier was being a royal PITA, so mine stepped in and had a "conversation" with them.  Next thing I know, they took care of it.  Glad yours did the same for you.

Oh my word, I actually cooked something edible for dinner.

I used this recipe - http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Balsamic-Chicken-and-Pasta/Detail.aspx?prop31=9 - but I had to use canned diced tomatoes because I didn't have enough fresh ones. YUM - I bet it would have been better with all fresh tomatoes though.

I just had to brag, LOL.

That sounds yummy. I printed it out. I love those grape tomatoes but they can be really pricey. I'm definitely going to give this a try. Anything with balsamic vinegar is a hit for me.

Only a little while left before I can get out of here but I swear the clock has stopped moving. I also feel like I'm the only one still working in this building. I hope DH has something planned for dinner tonight since he was off today.

Honestly it was GREAT even with canned tomatoes. We have 10 grape tomato vines though, I'll ship you some, I swear. We'll have them coming out of our ears in a couple more days once they all ripen. BF counted over 70 the other day!

Should I go to the frisbee competition tomorrow? One one hand, I'm way burned out on driving. way way way burned out. I also haven't practiced a routine with Neiko lately. We would just be out there winging it. On the other hand, I was supposed to meet several folks there that I haven't met before. Dunno what to do!

Oh and I would have to bring crates and such for 5 dogs ;p

I am totally freakin pissed right now. I signed up, and paid for a class expecting certain dates, the last weekend in June, the last weekend in July, and the first August. I also expected a certain instructor. I got an email today from a different instructor who is now teaching the class, with different dates listed. Now, there are several Tuesdays, the second weekend is gone, and the third is now Thursday, Friday, Saturday, instead of Friday-Saturday. Umm... I already made plans based on the originally listed class dates. I can fix some of them, but changing my work schedule, and now I will have to miss several more days, is difficult. They probably changed it on the page with the listings, I'm assuming because this person needed different times and days, but I haven't checked there since I signed up for my class. I have to see if I can at least arrange to meet with my mentor on Tuesdays. I also signed up for that based on the days the class was supposed to be. If I thought I was going to be there on Tuesdays, I would have said I needed a mentor who could meet on Tuesdays, not Monday or Wednesday. I'll at least find out who that is this Tuesday. Hopefully, if I can't meet on Tuesdays with my mentor, I can maybe switch classes or something, or drop this one, but I really do not want to drop.
