Mindless Chatter Weekend.

OK, the "talking" IS more soft than loud.  I'm just not USED to having bird sounds inside the house.  It's like she's chatting with us and wants to be reassured that she isn't all alone.

(sniggering) DH admitted that HE got up a few times in the night to check on her.....

haha what a softy your dh is. I can't wait to see pics

Well, I've got my fingers crossed for you Glenda.  A house!  The novelty of it!

My niece (some of you may remember the cruel joke someone played on her about the American Travelling team?) is going to an interview with the women's coach at UMD tomorrow.  She is going to meet with the coach and then one of the coach's assistants is going to take her on a campus tour while she reviews the game videos of Megan.  So hopefully by September Megan will be a Bulldog.  Fingers crossed for that too.  I believe 3 of the girls that play for the Bulldogs are on Team Canada so if she makes that team, Team Canada will watch every game she plays.  Which means....she could still potentially make the roster for the 2010 Olympic games....Which also means I really need to find a place to stay in Van.  Of course that is the highest hope I have right now, and I think the highest she has right now too, but just making this team will open up a whole new world for her.  I have butterflies in my stomach.

I'm still feeling pretty bad.  But, I cannot be sick around here.  I've got DH waking me up to tell me something or other, don't even know what he said and now he's not here.  He'll kill me if I call him and ask him where he is, LOL!  Willow wants to go, go, go.  The cats are jumping on and off the deck making her bark.  My neighbors have the mower going!  I'm up!

Hope everyone has a great day.  It's beautiful out here.

I went to Home Depot last night in search of new drawer handles and knobs for some bedroom furniture that just got repainted.  I couldn't find any handles where the holes matched up with the holes in the drawers - they were all either too long or too short.  So the guy says to follow him to the custom kitchen department where he proceeds to show me custom ordered handles ... at about $15 a pop.  Umm.  Did I mention that I need 15 handles? I just went back to the section I was in and bought two brushed nickel knobs for each drawer instead.  It worked out fine. Then when I got home and went through the mail I found one of those voter pamphlets.  It looks like CA is having an election next month.  Did anyone else from CA know about that?  I haven't heard one word about it on TV or the radio, but on May 19 we'll be voting on six propositions about the state budget. Anyone want to bet there won't be much of a turnout for this election and that the cost of holding it will be astronomical? And guess who will be paying for it? Sheesh. Sad

I heard a little about it and we got our ballots in the mail but I haven't even looked at them. I'm betting it's a super low turnout too. I wonder if that's what they're hoping for.

OMG Bugsy is still emitiing the most knoxious gas from yesterdays doggie treat extravaganza - LOL I just heard another one

I have the ceiling fan on to try and make this room tolerable - oh and as usual because he doesn't feel well he is right next to me Ick!

Hahahaha Karen!  I can soooo sympathize!  Crusher is exactly the same way when he gets a sore tummy.  Velcro dog, you know, just in case I didn't realize he was sick...Isn't it fun to have dogs with food allergies?

Hah I can just imagine bugsy farts. Abbie has a nuclear butt too but bugsy is like 2x her weight.

I'm bored this afternoon. So are the dogs. Its been raining all day and I'm feeling lazy.

Has anyone used one of those teeth guard things while sleeping? I tense up my jaw and grind my teeth so badly. I'm wondering if it would help.

I am a terrible grinder and have a hard plastic one that was custom made - it helps but doesn't really stop it.  Don't waste your money on the ones you can buy and mold.  They are horrible - pretty much a sports mouth guard.

Bugsy has finally went somewhere else - poor guy - I gave him GasX this morning which helped him to feel better but didn't stop the gas LOL

I'm about to fire up the grill and cook some pork chops with spicy apple grilling sauce and DW is going to saute some aspargus with mushrooms and stuff. Then, I need to get to bed early. Tomorrow, at work (what a wonderful word), I will be in Ft. Worth, helping to do a retrofit on an emergency generator.

Today, I did a version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door" that I liked. And a version of "Holy Diver" that was good, too. This is my weekend to have success, I guess.

LOL, I haven't been above keeping one of those Febreeze sprays near by and giving the air a little spritz in her direction as they come!

well I will just say that next year I will try and prevent some of the rampant treat feeding - I usually do but it was so busy and crazy I didn't think I had time to explain that he had allergies.  I benadrylled him before it, knowing we weren't likely to prevent all chicken consumption so we prevented hives, got some dandruff and itchies along with the stench.

Wow I am taking an online course in CSS/XHTML and it is moving fast Surprise  The HTML class I could do while sitting in front of the TV.  I am currently trying to read this lesson while DH is watching No Country for Old Men.  I don't know what in the world everyone is getting shot for and I daren't take on the Lesson 2 assignment tonight

that's why I'm on here Big Smile

Thanks Kate - I may do that Wink  It all made sense to me but I did have to keep looking at the code.  In these early stages we seem to be taking mighty leaps instead of steady progression.  LOL I had a look in the discussion section and suffice to say there are some real techies in there.  I am out today but will settle in to the assignment tonight!
