The big question is, what are you going to wear?!

    I have no idea Surprise

BE COMFORTABLE.  That's always my mantra -- don't wear shoes that hurt, you want to concentrate on you guys and your day, not a skirt or blouse that won't stay up or down.

When David and I got married (also on OUR dime 12 years ago) David said to me at dinner "That was kinda fun ... we ought to do it again sometime!!"  and we HAVE.  We've renewed our vows every 5 years (now remember we're in our 50's so we don't give a hoot what anyone else says) and every time it gets BETTER.

You won't regret it -- you won't spend years paying it off, and you can have all the fun YOU want.  (and p.s. -- from personal experience -- silk flowers in your bouquet?  Do another very 'small' one to toss -- then KEEP your bouquet and use it again if you renew your vows!!  Mine's still going strong!! 3 times!!

But remember -- we'd LOVE pictures!!!

I'm probably going to wear wedge sandals...I love those things. And probably some springy sundress. Nothing over the top, nothing constricting, nothing uncomfortable. Jeremy's going to wear dress pants and a dress shirt. Nothing too formal, but still nice.

JP here as well in a very small chapel, 31 years ago.  It really doesn't matter where you say your vows...or even if you say vows at all.  Just having a nice ceremony with the 3 of you sounds divine.  Congratulations!

My wedding dress was bought for $10.00 worn only once by someone who had gotten married exactly 10 years to the day of my small wedding.  It was "vintage"  Have fun finding the right dress for you.

LOL, I was just looking through this thread: http://forum.dog.com/forums/p/91677/727851.aspx#727851

I wasn't 100% happy with any of those ideas. I'm just so happy, so relieved, so excited, I'm doing what I'm doing.

Congrats on the impending wedding.  If your wedding is in So. NH and you are still looking for B&B's that allow dogs, I can ask a friend who was doing dog-friendly research in southern NH.  She might know of a place.

Glad you're getting to do things your way.

    Yea an April wedding!!!!  Congrats!

My Hubby and I got married by a JP, decided last minute to just go ahead and get married. He called & said "If you and the kids can be ready in an hour we can go get our license and get married today.  That's when I told the kids(mine from previous marriage), get your best clothes on we are going somewhere special.  They were 6 and7 yrs old.  Didnt catch on until we stood in front of the JP, at his house and he put my son beside my hubby and my daughter beside me and then my daughter said  "We're getting married".  That was 23 years ago, it was just us cost us very little, we went out just the 4 of us to a very nice dinner then went home and played Monopoly, lol!  It was awesome, the kids signed the marriage license as the witnesses, it was a wonderful day we all remembered and it didnt break the bank.   It was just a few days  before Christmas and that is what we gave each of our parents as  a gift;   a scroll copy of the Marriage Lic with a bow tied around it.   Everyone cried and still say it was the best present they ever got!

As for what to wear?  I wore my favorite dress hanging in the closet (which is still by the way, hanging in the closet, lol) we splurged on the dinner but had a great time.  It was a very special moment for us.
