    Best Kennels Ever

Wow.... this is the best kennels I have ever seen... their website is **Link removed** .  I saw this place online and couldn't believe how great it looked, so I phoned the people up to find out if I could come look around.  I was greeted on the phone with a friendly voice answering every question I could think of and more... and even invited me to come and have a look at the place.  I turned up a week later without making an appointment to view the place... and wow was this place good.  The dogs literally have their own rooms, heaters, and outside areas too.  They also have grass paddocks so the dogs can run around off-leash (if preferred by the customer). This place was absolutely awesome, I took my dogs and cats here and am beyond impressed by this place.

Yep - looks like a nice place but 2,594 mi (about 1 day 20 hours) is a bit far to drive for me [:D]

    902 approx. miles from us:)

Cathy, where is No. CA  are you?  Reason I ask is that West Sacramento has just put in a big pet hotel with all kinds of amenities.  We're only about 10 min. from West Sac but I haven't been to see it yet. That hotel looks better than the last one I stayed in. [:D]

If only they had something as nice as that here! Hm..maybe I should consider moving to Canada lol.

I think Petsmart has a pethotel some places.  When I saw it advertised the dogs each had their own tvs, phones to hear your voice, etc.  You could get all sorts of ammenities depending on what you paid.

Also, I think it is possible this person is advertising their place.  They have two posts... best kennel and best cattery they have ever seen.  If I am wrong, sorry.

You should stay around and tell us about your dogs though!

Joyce - I'm in Sacramento (live in Granite Bay) and I think I know which one you're talking about.  Does it have a swimming pool and video cameras?  I told my husband we're going to use it one of these days.  He worries soooo much about leaving the dogs (hence, we don't travel much).  He thought the place looked nice but worried about the location, so we may have to pay them a visit.  Thanks for reminding me.

If in fact this person is pushing their own business, Jaime will be along to remove the link.  I wondered, where the second post they make is to tout a business......

The *best* boarding place I have ever seen was the place Roscoe went to the last two weeks.  It's in Arroyo Grande - 5 acres of fields for digging, running, hunting, chasing, fetching, etc.  The dogs have free run of the fields and the house.  The house has 6 sofas for the dogs to snooze on, a deck in the sun overlooking the fields, and a room for their crates/beds for napping.  She has a staff of 1 per 6 dogs maximum (usually fewer dogs per person).  It's awesome. Roscoe spent 2 weeks hunting and eating rodents, playing wrestle, making friends with a puggle and a lab, and snuggling with people instead of being in a cage only let out for a couple hours a day.  Anyone who wants to know the name, just pm me.  I'll give you her website.

The best cattery I have ever seen was where Scout stayed.  It's a small place - room for 5 cats at a time. Each cat gets a room a tiny bit smaller than the size of a half-bath. They have a bed, toys, cat tree, and a window over-looking the chicken pen.  Then there is a play room with tons of toys and climbing things.  The owner spends most of the day there rotating cats into the playroom (only cats from one family at a time). They can play or snuggle with her.  .  The owner even takes pictures and sends home a "vacation scrapbook" with the kitty.  Scout's pictures show her having a blast.  She totally took over the place. LOL!  Seriously, if you have to board your cat for a long time, this place is worth driving a few hours to drop your cat off at it before you leave.  PM me if you want the info.

I agree...this person is posting for their own gain....both posts are identical except for the title.  Too bad!

Looks nice but a little pricey!  But what do I know!

Hey there... sorry if everyone thinks I am advertising my own business.. but I am, in fact, not.  I just thought everyone should know about this place because it is soo neat.  I have boarded my animals in places before and just haven't been satisfied.  I get so worried when I am away from my pets that I actually stopped gong away until I found this place.   The royal pets hotel is the only place in my area and that I have ever seen which has excellent standards, staff, and enough room for my animals.   I have a female doberman who is 7 years old called Chia, she loves to exercise alot, and when I used to take her to other places she would always come out fatter, as though they hadn't given her exercise at all... at this place, she always looks good, lean and her eyes are bright.  My other dog is a male golden retriever, his name is Buck and he is getting on in years... he turned 15 last month, and I worry alot about how he is gonna be while I am gone... he is on alot of medicine for his bad hips, and he has trouble getting around too easy.  This place just seemed to be the only one which has satisfied my needs from all perspectives so far.  Not to mention my two kitties... Badger and Tonka... they are two beautiful himilayans who need constant grooming at home or they will get matted like crazy... so I took them to this place for a 2 week trip and they came back matt free... no other place has ever done that before.  They looked happy, and even though it is tough to admit, they didn't seem to enthused to see me when I picked them up.  But they aren't the biggest on car rides anyway... especially Badger, I have to give him gravol before he travels in order to stop him from being sick.

Anyway... I am sorry if you all thought that my posts weren't genuine, but think what you want... I was just trying to give everyone a headache free holiday when they leave there loved ones.  I just had such trouble finding this place... and I am really pleased with it.

Hey Jensw... this places has 144 acres... they have 44 of 20 foot pine trees and the rest is fields.... They also have grass paddocks... Chia and Buck can run around without being tethered to a leash .  They really seem to love it... plus, when they aren't in the exercise paddock,  they can watch the other doggies from their kennel... it is really neat.  The place you take your dogs sounds really good too though... do they have have a website with pictures and stuff too?  The only thing I would be worried about with your one is the hunting rodents part... I am sure Chia would love it... but as I have found out the hard way... her stomach doesn't... hehe.

As for the cattery you describe... I would be a little worried that my 2 cats would be in a space the size of half a bath for most of the day.  I really like how the royal pets hotel allows my cats to move around as they want... get away from each other when they are in a bad moood... and most importantly go outside... there aren't many places which have this as a possibility.. and my cats are real outdoor cats.  When I went to pick them up... Tonka was outside staring at the birds making a wierd growling sound which she does at home when she sees birds... plus there were little chipmunks and rabbits running around... it was really neat to see her completely involved with this place... not even caring where I was.

Well, I have to cast a vote for the place where I leave my boy!  The woman who runs the kennel is what makes it so awesome.  She obviously loves dogs and seems to speak their language.  She built a house for the kennel.  She and her husband live on the top floor and the bottom floor is dedicated to dogs.  It's a huge, open concept room with tons of couches and dog beds.  Dogs have access to an outdoor yard...not 100 acres, but big enough to play in and small enough to be supervised.  Depending on the dog's personality, it will sleep in a crate.  But sometimes the dogs are invited to sleep upstairs with the pack.  I know that Chase spent 2 weeks sleeping in the humans' house.  Dogs are only crated between 10 PM and 6 AM.  You can pick up or drop off anytime between 7 AM and 9 PM.

It's a pretty amazing place and I feel really lucky to have discovered it!  It makes going away so much easier.  I guess it only works for very well-socialized dogs, though.  She doesn't accept un-speutered or aggressive dogs.  .
