i got my issue of the whole dog journal that my pic was used in.  Turns out i was the 'bad' example.( cuz it shows my dogs attached to my bike while i took a pic)  LOL not really I guess, it was a reminder to people to not leave their dogs unattended when attached to a bicycle, so good info overall. i made a note of it on my flickr pics just to remind people also. nothing worse than trying something new & fun, then having your dog  turn the bicycle into a monster cuz you went in to grab something. lol.

That's funny and that'd be just my luck. Ooooh look, I'm going to be in Glamour magazine. Oh wait, I'm the "don't wear this" picture Embarrassed. I think you should still feel proud and honored.

Man, this day seems to be going on forever. I've been so busy this week that it's flown by so far, but I feel like I've done a week's worth of work too. Tomorrow will be even busier but after that is Friday - yay.

I can't believe we set our clocks forward already. It seems so early but I'm always glad when there's more daylight when I get off work.

Holy crap on a cracker!  The  clocks didn't go ahead already, did they?  Is the only clock in my house that's an hour off now the only clock that's right?  Please tell me it's this coming weekend. Embarrassed

Sorry Joyce - I should've worded that differently. I didn't believe DH when he said we set our clocks ahead this weekend and then a few min's later they said it on the news. It just seems really early to me.

No problem!  I'll make a note to remember to do it Saturday night.  I've got one clock in the computer room that's up high on the wall and it's too much of a hassle to climb up there and change it ... so it has been one hour fast for months.  Now I'll have to remember that it's going to be right for awhile. I've had a crappy day.

This morning, I attempted to take the dogs running.  After about a mile I realized that, while I am feeling better, I am nowhere near ready to try to run any real distance.  I called DH to come pick us up, because I wasn't sure that I could make it home.  When we got home, Shooter puked on the floor.  (None of our dogs are 'pukers' so I'm not used to dealing in dog puke.)  This evening, the potential birth mother turned us down.  We were prepared for it, but it still hurt a little.  And, to finish the day off....my inlaws are coming to visit next week.

On an upnote, I know that, unless I am hit by a bus, tomorrow can't get much worse!

Oh Amanda, I am so sorry about the birth mother.  Even though you were expecting it, it can't be easy to hear.  Did she give a reason?  I would be pretty upset if it was because you didn't have other children...I mean she knew that going in, that doesn't seem to fair to you.

Sorry about the rest of your crappy day too.  If it makes you feel better, I was cleaning up dog puke yesterday too - although we brought it on ourselves.  {{HUGS}} Hope today is going better for you.

She said that it was in part because we don't have other kids.  She was very concerned that the baby is due in less than 3 weeks, & we have essentially nothing for a baby.  When she visited, I tried to assure her that we could, & would have absolutely everything that we would need for the baby before the birth, but apparently she wasn't sure that we could pull it off.  She ended up picking a family who already has an 18 month old.  She said that she felt that they were better prepared to deal with another baby.  I guess that I should be happy that we made it to the final two couples, but I am disappointed.  Our time will come though!

I am probably biased because I "know" you, but to me it seems unfair to give the couple a baby that already has one.  And personally, I would think you guys would be better able to handle an infant without an 18 month old running around.  I cannot even imagine having an infant in conjunction with Riley.  Thinking about it makes my head want to explode.  Then again, at one point my parents had three infants (foster kids) had just adopted a newborn (my sister), a 2 year old and a 4 year old all at the same time...gives me the chills just thinking about it.

The part about not having anything, is kind of BS if you ask me.  So what are you supposed to do, buy all this stuff just in case someone might select you.  Heck we didn't have Riley's crib put together completely until she was 5 weeks old.  Most of the "stuff" you can't use right away anyway.  It's not like you can put an infant in a highchair and feed them.  All a baby needs immediately is love and I am pretty sure you and your DH would supply plenty of that!!!

You are right though, at least you made it to the final two.  That's important.
