Mindless chatter, weekend edition

I PLANNED to have a nice, quiet day.  HAH! I got up to bathe Gypsy, walk on the treadmill and shower and be at the shelter by 10.  Hmmm, DH is soaking in the tub (our only full bath), so I have to wait until he and his book get out. So, it was 11 by the time I got hter, but I was productive while I was waiting and stripped the sheets, did a couple of loads of laundry, boiled some eggs and ate breakfast.

After walking two dogs, giving everyone treats and playing with the cats, I came home to walk Gypsy.  Then I went to wash my car, gas up, hit Safeway for a refund on a couple of things and to buy two bags of groceries for $7.06, get a free sandwich at Quiznos, a free pop at Circle K and then home.  I sat down long enough to eat, vaccumed, dusted and then folded more laundry, washed more laundry (do you see a pattern here? LOL) and brought in a couple of loads of wood so we could start a fire. At this point, I collapsed and sat down with three crossword puzzles so I could rest a bit! After dinner (DH made it) I sat down, read a book and called my MIL and a girlfriend to chat for a bit.  Then DS#1 came home form playing basketball with a friend and we watched Brian REgan on Youtube.

Tomorrow, I plan to go to the shelter (if it's not raining) and, hit another store and work on my coupons.  I will do my nails in the vening and hopefully get a nap in!

Umm....OUCH.  Groan.  Moan.  Holy cow I feel like the Clydesdales did a tap dance on my body.  I'm thinking I'm going to stay home today and not spend the afternoon with Mom.  Hate to o that, but, a hug might send me into a screaming plea for mercy!  Need to take something for the muscles and the pain and I don't want to drive after I do.  Will have to see, but I'm thinking today is going to be a stay home kind of day.  Owie.

And, its COLD again...below zero this morning.  Not my kind of day.   Isn't it March now?  The thresh hold of spring??  Someone needs to clue Mother Nature in!

The meeting with the potential birth mother went well yesterday.  I still don't think that she will pick us, but at least now, we have a better idea of what to expect.

I think that I may curl up with a book today, & do nothing.  We cleaned the house yesterday, so there isn't much to do here today.

It is an absolute monsoon today and due to get worse - good day to stay in and watch TV or read.  I need to think of something to teach B today as we won't be taking a run in this.

DH is making turkey soup for lunch which will be ready soon, num num.  He is awesome at soups!

It's a monsoon here too and such a welcome site. It was barely drizzling when I got up and I thought the weather folks had blown their prediction. Well, it started pouring soon after and based on the doppler picture, it's going to be a very soggy day. It fits my mood perfectly too. I passed on going to the gym and did the elliptical and have no plans to go anywhere today. DH just got off his 48 hr shift, so I'm sure he'll be happy to be a couch potato today too.

I went to dinner last night with DH's family and got into a heated discussion with SIL over her new dog's aggression and the problems she's had with off-leash dogs. I feel her pain but she's now carrying pepper spray and seems a bit too ready to use it. We just went round and round about it and I was mad at myself the rest of the night for not just dropping it Zip it!

Snowing/icing here.  I love watching snow fall.

My only issue with it is that Chloe acts like she's melting when it's wet or snowy out.  She'll take a few steps then turn to look at me, I'll have to encourage her to continue, she'll take a few more steps, and then cycle repeats.  Well, she went 1/2 hr ago, so I have awhile before we'll need to go out again.

I might try to catch a few pictures of them out in it.  If I can torture them long enough to have time to snap a photo.

Cathy, please tell me that the issues aren't with the dobe who has already gotten off to a rough start???

DH & Bevo had a disagreement this morning, & they are both still pouting about it.  I did take a nap with DH on the couch, while Bev sat next to the couch with his head rested on me.  He gave DH stink eye the entire time. Confused

I should get dressed, but it's already almost 3 in the afternoon, & my pajamas are still so comfy.

Wow, it's snowing here in central GA!!!  Once every 10 years, maybe.  The dogs don't know what to make of it!  Glad I don't have to go anywhere as the roads will get icy tonight...

I'm afraid so Super Angry She started off by saying that the new dog is now dog aggressive, so she has him in a class for that. I've never met anyone who can make something so complicated but part of the problem is that she'll run to and listen to anyone she considers an expert. She said "a cop is the one who told me to carry the pepper spray" and I thought "yeah, it's probably the same cop that jerked him off the ground with a choke chain"....but I didn't say that. This puppy is only 7 or 8 months old and already so much has gone wrong. I just don't have a good feeling about things.

I was afraid of that.  I'm sure that this sounds terrible, but it really sounds like she needs to give the puppy back to the breeder, & get herself a stuffed dog.  You really can't screw a stuffed animal up.

Nope, doesn't sound terrible to me at all. I need to stay away from the situation tho. I'm not good at keeping my mouth shut when it comes to stuff like this.

I'm sad that the weekend is almost over. Sassy's laying on the couch with DH and it's just been the nicest lazy day. I need one or two more of these.

Cathy, I hope she doesn't screw this dog up....  Does she have any Dobe experience?        (whoops, sorry, I know you're trying not to go there. I just hope to goodness she didn't truly get an aggressive Dobe because she could very easily get over her head.  Gracie's littermate is owned by a dog trainer who obtained a male Dobe from a breeder in California and it turned out to be a nightmare in aggression.)

Watching Rich Bride, Poor Bride and it's almost painful how needy and demanding these people are.  All the WHINING is aggravating!  "I want!"  "It's going to be this way, no matter what!"  "I don't care, this is what I WAANNT!"  All I wanted to see was pretty dresses and flowers, so I am muting these cranky/rude people.

She has no experience with Dobes and really doesn't have much experience with dogs in general. She bought a JRT a few yrs ago and now that dog is staying at MILs because she and the new dog don't get along. She wanted a dog for protection. I guess she never considered what getting a dog bred for protection would mean. The dog is extremely smart but already seems really fearful and I'm sure that's what she's seeing as dog aggression.. I wanted to talk to her last night about getting him into some things that would help build confidence (for both of them), but she wasn't interested in anything I had to say.

Cathy, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. That is a hard situation to be in.

Well the rain held off long enough to finish classes then it poured. Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow since I have to go up to the hospital and drop off some paper work.

Maze is sick.. and Sandy is tired.. So they're both lounging onthe couch. Alex and I are gonna watch movies tonight.

And she clearly has no idea that fear aggression (esp in a Doberman) can be a very dangerous thing.  DANG people make me mad.  (My sister refuses to listen to me about dog food, but that frustration is NOTHING compared to what you must been feeling to get your SIL to listen to you.)She and her dog could be in trouble in a hurry.  ARGH.
