yeah really...
back yard breeding,
front yard breeding, artificial insimination, out in the streets.... it has to do with integrity and intentions not JUST breeding. and people say... "well his intentions were in the right place"... but not by the standards of SOME people. when you say BYB a lot of people say "whu?" and havent got a clue.
just like people didnt realise dog fighting was a sport and that it was so violent.. i say.. well what did you expect? but that isnt fair. i keep up with the bulldog world so i know more than i really care to admit about this garbage. but i believe if you're going to be against something then you should learn everything you can about it so you can state your case and get others to see just how bad it is...
thats why i dont like them showing the actual fight on tv... i said it already.. show the aftermath of the fight. just saying its BAD and you should agree with me! isnt good enough, showing the fight in progress isnt good enough. but showing the gore and death afterwards is going to make a lot of people snap to attention.
my step mom is NOT a bulldog fan at all. my whole life she would preach to me and my sisters about how dangerous they are, how they lock their jaws, how they attack and kill their owners and random dogs.... but you know what? she had one bad experience with a Boxer... her friend rescued him from the pound. why was he in the pound? because he was a biter... she was bitten while he was chained up too....
she's not as narrow minded as she once was, but it has taken 20 years for her to finally educate herself.... She's a collie person by default though. collies and small dogs. she had ONE pitbull mix that was rescued as a runt and bottle fed back to health. that dog helped bring her around... not advocates of the breed or the media.
my dad rescued a little chocolate pit bull pup once. after he was full grown he looked like an amazing well bred dog and smart to boot. one day my step mom saw an add in the paper missing a dog that looked a lot like this one - wasnt though just the same breed - and of course the first comment fromher was "i bet he was stolen for fighting purposes" ... old habbits die hard i guess.
