Tracy ... [:)] What a kind and thoughtful post! [:)]

DumDog ... did you say you do art? Of dogs? Would you share some?

I'm hoping Nikki_Burr will share some, too!

    Who else .... ?

    Thanks for remembering me [:)]

I'll post a few things, though I think most of these you guys have probably already seen.

    Greyhound named Jazz:

A certain dog some of you may recognize:

    Greyhound named Patsy:

Slightly older watercolor of a Welsh Springer named Hunter:

Latest of a black Lab named Hannah:

And now just some sketches...the first one I did of Patsy before I did the final drawing, and the rest are pen sketches from my school notes (I really do nothing else but draw in all my classes...I'm not sure how I manage to get good grades really [:-])

Stylized lab...different, but I like how it came out sorta...

    Bloodhoundy type thing...

    Golden puppy.

And some..random dog...that I of course managed to draw OVER notes [8|]

Do wild canids count?  Because I have plenty of those drawings too [:D]

Here's a project I did over the weekend for a friend who brought her new pup home. It's the pup with his dam.

And here is the thing framed

Nikki! [:)] Thanks for sharing! The sylized lab reminds me of a favorite illustrator of mine, Peter Parnall:

DogDances ... nice! [:D] Is that oil pastel?

We bought a framed reproduction from this artist at an art show in St. Augustine, Florida.  Her work is awesome.  To view, click: [link>http://www.michellemardis.net/homepage.html]Michelle Mardis[/link]

Nikki Burr & DogDancesStudios. I am more than impressed by the art you two have created. Love them all.

I guess that's what type of dog art I like. Great renditions of real dogs. DDStudios, I'm sure your friend will cherish the picture forever.

There is a professional photographer that donates his time and his talent to a shelter in Portland, that I absolutely adore.  He takes amazing photos, and of course I love the pictures of the dogs looking for loving homes.  If you get your dogs picture taken with him he donates a third of the cost to the shelter.

Here is his website if you want to check out his work

I spent years and years drawing people and horses in high school. Then I basically stopped when I went on to college and actually had to spend time taking notes and doing lab work rather than drawing in class. [:D]

Now twenty years later I'm trying to re-learn. I've never done dogs before so it's like starting from scratch!

Here's the only one I have scanned - my scanner needs a driver or something to work with my laptop so I had to move heaven and earth to get this one sketch scanned for a friend!

I've started doing this at clinics - this was my first attempt and I had only the lined paper, lol.

Brookcove ... [sm=beret.gif] ... I really enjoy your drawing! The texture of the fur is delightful!

I'm a fan of drawings and sketches made on un-arty surfaces ... napkins, architecture, envelopes, postit notes [;)]
