    yikes! where do you live?

i know a guy who always likes to startle my dogs. he says that's what makes them tough! [:@]
my sister invited him over to my house the other day. i forgot that he did that and sure enough... i told him if he did that again, he'd better not expect to come back into my house or hear any kind words from me. dunno how long that will last....[8|]

I live in Richmond, VA in the "west end", which was an upscale, nice area. I swear I don't live in the slums, although, apparently it's REALLY going downhill. [:(]

I forgot to add in my first post- we're moving to a house with a yard at the end of August and I've decided that I'm just going to let the dogs exercise in the yard during the day. I'm waiting until my husband gets home to walk them. It's a shame that I have to do that, but I'd feel safer. Of course, it's not like you're even totally safe at home.
    [&o] [:(]

Oops, we posted at the same time! You're actually probably about 4 hours away from me..ish. You can send the creeps my way and I'll deal with them police-style. [:D]

Maybe you and your dogs are just that adorable, people can't resist you!

Ok, trying to be positive here! I'm really sorry that happened to you, that's very frustrating.
Enjoy your afternoon with your sweet hubby! [:D]

Sounds like those kids need to be taken out behind the wood shed.  That's one good thing about my dogs, people are scared to approach me when I have them out.  Most people are timid of pitties!  When they do ask if they can rub them, I always tell them that I'm not sure since they are "behaving odd"  So, I lie!!  I'd rather that people didn't know that my dogs are the biggest lovebugs on earth!!  I feel safer that way!

There sure are a lot of creeps out there. The Denny's thing was really awful.

As to the rest of it, one benefit of middle age is that much of it does dissapate when they are no longer trying to get the attention of a cute girl. Other things about middle age aren't particularly welcome.

Not being hassled is an advantage of big dogs. Even when it's just Tasha & I, very few want to enroach upon her space. When it's two or more, it's very, very rare. Usually the less savory a person is, the more space they give my dogs.

Just can't win them all. Take care and realize that most people are OK, it's just the lousy ones have a higher profile.

as far as the picture taking.... you were in a public place. it is not like they were peeping through your windows. i dont think there is a law against taking someone's picture in a public place.

Yes! That's exactly what those hoodlums needed. I do miss my Shar Pei (RIP Peanut Butter); I felt safer with him...

Stacita- Thank you and that's another vote for a big dog... I already miss having my Shar Pei too. Thinking....

I'm really not sure why taking pictures and being obnoxious automatically equates to being a hoodlum.  Around here kids only get that title for being truly delinquent, like the ones who took a baseball bat to my car for no reason.

Of for goodness sakes. Don't pick my post apart and dissect my use of words. Again they were FOLLOWING ME AND BASICALLY HARASSING ME with their taking pictures.

I hate alot of people too. My brothers friends walk into my house like they own the place and my dog starts barking and they tell him to shut up when Im telling him good boy and praiseing him, and then they push him out of the way to get past the door, I tell them not to touch my dog and that if you don't want to get my dog mad then knock.

I remember your thread about Denny's!  That was awful!  Things like that honestly make me puke.  [:'(]

Its kinda creepy about the kids too.  But the freaky guy who lunged at your dogs would have got me going.

I can't stand stupid people.  There are a couple kids that like to come right up to Crusher and hug him which translates to him as leaning overtop of him.  He does not like it in the least and I have to keep pulling these kids off and telling them not to do it again.  Sometimes I just feel like letting him deal with them and really teaching them a lesson, but that would just get us in trouble.

Oh and the people with the Rottie.  I went for a walk the other day and Kale went to go over to it.  I told him not to and the owner came out and said that the kids were allowed to play with him whenever they wanted.  I told her Kale was not to play with strange dogs unless I or the owner was present.  And that I don't even leave him alone with my dogs.  She said,"Oh your dogs are vicious?"  [:@]  I've seen so many kids teasing that poor dog.  One will keep its attention in front while another will run up and slap it on the butt.  They leave it outside all the time and I guess this is their way of giving it attention?  Having the neighborhood kids torment it?  One day that poor dog is going to retalliate and it won't be my kid over there...
