Do Your Dogs Always Wear Collars?

Brooke and River yes always.  Their everyday collars has tags and canine fence device attached.  When we go out I change them for something more beautiful.  Hailie's collar gets removed in the house because she has poor hair follicle's and the collars remove her hair.

My boys always wear a collar.   They wear a Jingle bell collar have done that since Shadow was a puppy.   Since we are out in the country it helps me hear what direction they are in.  Problem is I cant find these collars anymore.  I have searched the web, the last place I got them doesnt carry them anymore.Sad

Generally. They all just wear plain nylon collars now with their ID embroidered. Dance doesn't have hers on right now just to give her a break, though. She has a finer coat and when she blows it (like now), her collar tends to assist in ripping it out and irritates her. But she's the only exception - the other two have their collars on all the time (except for during & after a bath), and of course when Dance isn't blowing her coat, she always has hers on as well.

Nope. They only wear them if we're going out, and even then? Emma may or may not  have a collar on. Emma escaped, once, because I was too comfortable at a dog show, and she came right over to someone and asked for help (which shocked the heck out of me, but hey!). Otherwise, neither dog has ever "gotten out" of anything, and they're never outside alone. Collars mess up their hairs, and Ena has enough of a time with hairs!

Nope, Kirby goes Nakey around the house.  He isn't a flight risk and is chipped.  When we go out he weres a harness that has his tags on it.  If I were going to leave a collar on him 24/7 it would have to be a break away.  Heard far too many horror stories of dogs getting caught and strangling or hurting themselves, and I'm not talking about random internet stories, these are from friends/family and such.

Mine always wear thiers because like someone else pointed out if the house ever catches on fire or the house gets broke into and they get out I want to make sure if someone finds them they can get in touch with me.

I can't remember the last time Kobi even wore a collar.  He has such a full mane around his neck that a flat collar just slips off, not to mention the matting and colour transfer in the wet.  I used to  walk him with a chain choker but he would occassionally tear after squirrels and I was afraid he would damage his neck. I have been usually a harness for years now, which comes off when we walk in the door.

My dogs wear their collars 24/7. I figure, why take them off when they could be the saving grace if Cadie or Riley ever get lost?

Yes. Apollo always wears a collar. Sometimes when we go out he wears a harness and a collar.

Always at my house. Sassy was found wandering without a collar and I've always wondered if someone released her on purpose or if she just slipped away. I'm not taking any chances. The collar has all their contact info on it too.

Mine never wear collars.  They have harnesses for when we go for walks, in the car or in the RV.  At home they go naked.  They "jaw joust" way too much for me to ever feel comfortable allowing them to wear collars.

Always.  Maggie wears a quick release one since Z does play with her neck sometimes, but Z's is a regular flat collar.  The time your dog will need id is invariably the one time you aren't expecting it, so that's why mine wear theirs 24/7.

I do worry about Kobi not having ID. I take Kobi to off leash areas often. I'm not afraid of him running off (although he found a dead raccoon once and I had to go look for him)  because he is my velcro dog but I worry about meeting a bylaw officer and not having his license. I'm sure that's a fine even if you have it at home. I do have him micro chipped however.

No. Thor is naked in the house! When we go out he wears his collars, but inside the house, sleeping belly up? nah
