Mindless Chatter - weekend

    Mindless Chatter - weekend

I started a thread just to say "I'm freezing!" here at work! lol  Either someone keeps leaving a door open or the heat's not up high enough, but whatever the reason I'm sitting at my desk turning blue despite two fleece jackets!!!! Brrrr.  And to top it off someone must've been smoking right by the back door down the hall from me because my office smells like cigarette smoke - BLECK!

And to think I rushed to get to work when I woke up an hour late! Hmph! (I only got in 10 mins late too!)

Good Morning!  I'm sorry that your morning is off to a bad start.

Due to the fact that I have an extremely limited social life I actually got 8 hours of sleep last night.  The cold snap is over but I still don't want to go outside.  I'm also not very motivated to get to agility class this morning.  Sheesh.

Please forgive any typos, I haven't put on my glasses/contacts yet and can't actually read the screen.  LOL

I got 9 hours of sleep last night because my alarm didn't go off! lol  It was kinda nice. :)

Found out the reason it's so cold is the heat's not working in my area...at least most of the animal areas are fine, just offices are affected for the most part.

I have a meeting with my accountant this morning. I'm hoping for good news.

I haven't slept well the last 2 nights and that's very unusual for me. Last night I woke shivering. I wondered if I was getting sick since the house wasn't that cold (69 degrees) and I have a down comforter. It was really strange. I finally fell back to sleep after I put socks and a sweatshirt on.

I've got a lot of cleaning to do today but I really want to do some shopping too, so I've already cleaned both bathrooms and started laundry. It's amazing how much dirty laundry 2 people can create Confused.

FIL is treating everyone to a BD dinner for SIL at a really nice asian bistro tonight, so I'm looking forward to that. I bought SIL some potted tulips for her BD and they look so beautiful and spring-like, I wish I'd bought some for myself.

I am procrastinating about packing...... I hate moving, but I know it needs to get done.... I wish the dogs could help me!!!! Courtney picked up 7 boxes of pantry food that took me three hours to pack!! I haven't moved in over 5 years and had forgotten just how long packing really takes. I keep telling myself how easy & quick it will be but, um, no.... I'm fooling myself!! I am moving myself and the stuff I need to live with on Jan 31st, day before Super Bowl, which is not going to be fun with the traffic since the Super Bowl is in tampa. Since I have until March 6th to be out of the house, I will rent the storage unit for the last weekend in Feb and move my furniture up there. No sense in paying for a storage unit for a month that I don't need.

I am taking the dogs to the park today before it gets too cold. I just need to get motivated..... I'd rather be snuggled up in bed watching movies, but I can't seem to do that without feeling guilty anymore cuz I have sooooo much to do. UGH!!!!

Well Ally got a home today. She is now Izzabelle. The family that are taking her lost their 12 year old Lab last April and decided it was time to get a new family member. Her teenage boys seemed very happy. One of them really bonded with her instantly. I will be visiting her in March when I go up to Louisville for the dog show.

Now for Clifford, Hannah, Dillion, and Holly. Which someone is coming down Monday to see Clifford and Dillion. Im hoping they pick Clifford. Samantha is getting way too attached to him and the same goes for him.

Too bad Blacklabbie cant take Hannah!

finally got off my butt today to go to the HUGE 2 storey store today, to get my groceries there. we have a supermarket downstairs, but it's really expensive and i am just sick of it. well i got carried away and bought WAY to much stuff. this place is walking distance to my house, although it's not exactly close. well, then at the cashier i used ALL my cash to pay for the groceries, instead of using my bank card. well great, that meant, i couldnt take a cab home. (DUH) so i had to carry everything home. let me tell you the stuff was so heavy, carrying it a few meters got me huffing and puffing. i had to carry it ALL the way home, which is a 20 minute walk. when i finally got home, i dropped everything in front of my door, got in and just lay on the floor for the next 15 minutes catching my breath. my sister brought in the groceries... i dont think i have EVER been so physically exhausted. well... next time i'm taking my bike! this was probably one of the stupidest things i have ever done... oh well. at least my fridge is filled to the brink with fruits! i'm gonna go smoothie crazy! wohooo!!

Is there any way I can start the day over? Today has been so rough! First, I've been dealing with a bad bout of bronchitis and am currently on my 3rd antibiotic. The first one made my heart race in conjunction with Mucinex, the second just didn't do anything, and this one, well, lets just say projectile vomiting out of no where is not an option. Especially since I had just administered 11 units of insulin. So that's great. I can't seem to beat this crap and none of the antibiotics are working. Feeling like I'm breathing through water soaked cotton just takes the steam out of my sails and I have not gotten anything done the past 2 weeks. With this kind of side effect, I'm not taking this AB again. Which bites considering 10 pills was over $140. Thank God that my insurance brought it down to a manageable level though. That is NOT fun.

Then, I go to let Piper out of her crate for a potty break and see several dime sized smears of pus looking material. She had surgery Monday to remove two lumps and she's also in heat. She's been crated the past few days because she has popped 2 stitches even with her e-collar. Needless to say, when I saw the discharge on her blankets, I turned her around, and sure enough it looked like pus from her vagina. Even more wonderful! I have an hour to get me cleaned up from my earlier excursion and to get her to the vet before they close. Thank goodness for weekend office hours!

If she does have a uterine or bladder infection, it has been caught very early. All the doggy blankets got washed yesterday, and I always check their blankets in the morning to check for problems. I've always worried that I've been to watchful, but today I'm glad for it. Her swabs were full of bacteria, but her bladder was empty so no sterile draw was possible. Still don't know if we are dealing with a simple UTI or the scarier pyometra. She'll be under close(r) observation  and we'll be back at the vet at the first sign of anything out of the ordinary. Hopefully the antibiotic we brought home will kill whatever it is.

I've got a killer headache and mile long list of things I need to do. But I'm crawling under the blankets. I just wish I could rewind today and start over. Okay, whine over.

Today wasn't too bad.. (Yet.. It's only 20 to 2. Lol)  Walked the dogs this morning and the fog was so thick I could only see to the end of the leashes.  Then went back to bed for a couple hours.  I got a free bike frame and back tire and a loose tire from a friend of mine. Took the loose wheel in to the bike repair place to get a new inner tube and it turns out I needed a new outer tire as well. Thank god this was caught before I got the bike finished. I'm taking in the frame on Tuesday to order the last two parts I need to finish the bike and then I can start conditioning Maze to run with me. Big Smile

OH! And I've got an interview!!! On Friday, Feb 13 at the new clothing store! WHOOT!

I found out the other night that two of Sandy's brothers will be coming to class Sunday night. This should be fun. 3 JRT's, an old english sheepdog puppy and a BC puppy.. Lol

Wahooo!  Heat wave.  Got up to TEN today...feels like one, and the snow is spitting, real wet and yucky.  When I came home from work I could see where Thor peed on the tire of DS' truck...there was a yellow stream stuck to the tire!  Too cold for humans or canines!  Don't suppose I could train thm to use the people toilet??

Why do these road commission people keep trying to scrap the roads clean in these temps??  The little bit that's left gets icey.  So much better to leave a bit of snow cover on the roads and sand it.  Too cold for salt, so just sand and leave the little bits on the roads for traction.

So, I'm off work until Tuesday.  Will be nice to have two days in a row off.  My friends DH has been behaving pretty much....texting her a lot, but not actually calling.  I have to keep reminding her that when he says something like "we both have to be more committed to making our marriage work" that if SHE explains that she can only try so long when she is the only one trying....well, he's winning.  He's still got all the power and control  She' slowly getting it.  Short and sweet answers (she's afraid to not answer...he might show up if she ignores) and when he starts telling her how great he's going to me, she needs to tell him to SHOW me not tell me.  She's really going to need a ton of proof before she even THINKS about considering that MAYBE the marriage couldd be salvaged.

But, little goodies like the disconnect notice on the electric, termination of service notice on the trash collection, cable, etc, etc, etc, surely don't help her attitude much!  Nor should they.

I went to Target to try on swimsuits.  Instead I was disgusted with myself and bought new workout clothes instead.  Time to get on the elliptical....

My carpet is so clean and my house smells so good.  After Kenya's "issues" last weekend and then yesterday Coke pooping diarrhea in his crate and then shaking himself (there was shite on the ceiling!) I borrowed a friend's deep cleaner.  I love having a friend that works for Bissell!

I've had insomnia for 3 nights now - i was hoping tonight was different BUT when bathing Bugsy I noticed a red area on his chest that sort of bleeds from one of his spots.  I am pretty anxious about it.  Will contact the vet school on Tuesday.

We started out at 9* this morning that is fairly chilly for NC LOL, but the sun was shining and very limited wind so it really didn't seem too bad.

I had a pretty productive day and felt relaxed which hasn't been the case of late.  DH & I did some fun training with B and then when I went out to walk him someone & their puppy were out walking and hoping to meet B.  So we let them play for a while (pup is a rescue mutt about 13lbs at 14 wks) and then we walked them together.  They had a blast and were fast friends.

And that is all going to watch some football tomorrow and keep cleaning bits and pieces because I have been slack of late.

It's been a busy, but fun day!

I met with my accountant.  He was so proud of himself because I'm getting a refund.  I'm pretty sure that I burst his bubble by pointing out that the only reason that I was getting a refund was because I overpaid my quarterly payments.  I suppose that he thought that I wouldn't realize that....

I went to the barn this morning.  Jinxx & I went out for a ride.  Jinxx was in a unusually laid back mood today, so I let Bev & Chyna run along with us.  We rode for almost 2 hours before I had to deliver Bev to DH for obedience class.

I met DH & picked up Brinxx, Shooter, & Schatzi.  Then we went & picked up a friend, & her new dog to go dog supply shopping.  I love shopping for dog stuff, even though my guys didn't really need anything.  They ended up getting cuz-es.  I also had to pick up food for Bev.  I got six cases of Natures Variety cans, & I'm going to try him on Honest Kitchen.  I don't think that it will cause a problem.  At least I hope not.

The friend, who is visiting for the weekend, is going out with my younger brother tonight.  I'm a little worried.  DH & I cooked llama burgers tonight, & now we are going to spend some quality time together on the couch tonight.

I think someone kidnapped JJ and replaced him with a lookalike. Last night JJ's mom and her new bf came over. We started talking about the dogs and JJ started telling his mom's bf about Joker. He even said Vizsla right!! Shoot I didnt even say it right the first time I had said it. Apparently JJ has been doing a little reading on Vizslas. Total shocker to me.

I can so get used to this new weird change in JJ's behavior about the dogs.
