We are offically living in the deep freeze now! Yikes. 9 degrees right now. Today, tomorrow and Monday are supposed to creep into the 20's, but for the rest of the week, single digits. Mother nature is not being kind to us in this part of the world. Brrrrrrr!
As alarms were going off this morning, and we were both hitting snooze, I asked what dog was between our legs so that we couldn't snuggle. It was Sheba, who very politely got up and came to curl up against my chest so Daddy and I could cuddle for a few. She wasn't asked either. It's incredible how intuitive dogs can be, and how much they actually understand. She was NOT asked to move....she heard us and DID move regardless. Good girl!
Now if I could just get Theo to stop eating the dog beds. I've tried bitter everything to no avail. He leaves the beds alone all night, but as soon as I get up he starts eating. I hate to take them up in the mornings, because the floors are cold regardless of the time, but, if I don't grab them right away, he starts chewing. Have I mentioned how much I HATE mending?????
The "receiving line" that I have to pass through in the mornings was worse than ever today. Shadow gets so blasted excited when I MOVE in bed, forget putting on slippers and actually getting up! Don't know what to do with him. I turn my back and ignore, but then he jumps up on me from behind some days, and I've got permanate bruises on my rear and tops of my legs. Shadow has always been super excitable...he was an "only" child and without sibling influence, he's not quite as easy as some of the others. But, man, mornings are the pits with him carrying on like he does.
Open to suggestions.......and yes, we've greatly increased the exercise, so it's not that.
