lost bobbi *another aussie, pics added*

Julie, so sorry to hear about Bobbi. Just wanted to tell you that you are doing a fantastic job and not to give up any hope. I have helped out on multiple escaped greyhound rescues and they are so difficult to go through. Like Bobbi, many of them are terrified of people and their unfamiliar surroundings so it makes it hard to get them back, plus the fact that they can run so fast means they can be anywhere in a short amount of time. Don't get discouraged. The two sightings are great and Bobbi may start to fatigue and slow down. We have found greyhounds even weeks later after no sightings so the sightings are so good. Keeping you guys in my thoughts and sending strong vibes your way!

I keep thinking of her also and hope she finds her way home soon!!

I was thinking about Bobbi when I went to sleep and again when I woke up. Julie - I'm really thinking of you too though. I know how much you care about this girl and how hard you're trying to find her. I hope the weekend brings some good news.

Is anyone from that vet's office out helping you look, or setting traps?  Also, just a suggestion - call your local TV stations!  Maybe they will do a blurb telling people to call and not try to catch.  Also, call your local newspapers and ask them to put something in the paper and on their web pages.  Sometimes a dog friendly reporter will help do a wider story on rescue and the trials and tribulations.  Anything you can do to widen the net in a big way..

I'm going to an AKC match tomorrow in Lansing.  If you want I can ask them to make an announcement, assuming there will be people at the event that live in your area.

This is true.  I haev a friend who writes pet articles for a local newspaper. She several people ( including me....and our local dog warden ) a story about a dog in our neck of  the woods that got away.  I put it on K9 Amber alert...and a few other did what ever they thought to do...and just a little while ago Sandy emailed me to tell me that ZsaZsa has been found.  Didn't here the story on how they found her...maybe it had something to do with Sandy ( the pet lover news lady ) or many not...don't know yet. But the dog was found and is back at home tonight. So hopefully the same will be with you Jewlee.

Day 4. •sigh• I can't even put in to words how I'm feeling right now. Tired and defeated are probably the best discriptions.

This morning a friend who has been tromping through the woods and working with me to comb the area, went out to check the special crate. Nothing had been near it.

I did some shopping: binaculars, sardines, salmon and toe warmers.

About 11am I got a call from a guy who said there was a dog matching bobbies description digging in his compost pile 5 mins prior. We raced over ther but did not see anything. Since his house was near the woods we think bobbie is sticking to my friend hiked south and I hiked north. We left trails of salmon and sardines. I checked the special crate again and nothing.

We spent about 6 hours hiking through the woods, up and down hills, through heavy brush so thick you could hardly get through. All while a winter storm is raging on dumping about 6-8 inches of snow, covering any fresh tracks within minuted. By the end of the day the snow was so deep it was basically up to my knees making it very hard to walk.

About 6pm I got another call from someone saying they saw her north or saginaw - the same area the other 2 sightings were.

So basically I got 3 calls from people seeing her north of saginaw and 2 calls seeing her south of saginaw. Saginaw hwy is a 5 lane east west road and is the main business corridor through lansing. It is by far the busiest road in the area.

So I don't know if she is north or south, east or west. It is soooooooooo disheartening.

And to top it all off the power to my hot tub tripped again. Why is it doing that all of the sudden? Especially when I need it most.

I apologize for my pity party. Several people helped drive around and stuff mailboxes today. I am getting a lot of help. I couldn't ask for more. There are so many people out there rooting for her, she has to be found, right?

Is is at the obed club of greater lansing? If so, it has already been posted to their email list. It wouldn't hurt to have a flyer there though. Thansk!

I'm not sure who's hosting, it's an AKC conformation match at MSU.  Do you have a file of your flyer?  I can print out a couple.

You've got no reason to apologize. It sounds like a grueling day and I know you're exhausted. All the effort would be worth it, if you could just find her, but coming up empty-handed has to feel really awful.

I'm sorry about your hot tub too. It'd be nice to at least be able to unwind and relax when you get home. I don't know how your tub is wired, but the ones I've had were all 220 and I know that there was a mechanism in the motor that would shut if off if it detected any problem. I think that's so no one gets zapped while in the tub. You might want to have an electrician check it out if it keeps happening.

Julie, don't feel discouraged.  You are doing GREAT!  You're doing absolutely everything that you can, & I just know that your persistence will pay off.  Hang in there!

Wow Julie you are doing an awesome job and I cannot imagine how you could do any more than you are - not many would be still at it.  And so sorry about your hot tub because I can just imagine how badly you need it.

Wishing you the best and dang i wish i lived somewhere near so I could help!

Bobbi you must be so tired sweetie - let Julie or anyone help you!

You've been having a rough season. What with two months ago, and now this. I'm thinking you will find her just fine in spite of old man winter.

As for the hot tub, there may be some condensation somewhere or moisture has gotten in and frozen across something to cause your breaker to trip. Once in a great while, breakers do wear out but I would bet it is more likely a problem of something shorting across electrical contacts. It could even be a critter, such as a field rat crawled in and crossed the wrong things. I have actually seen that happen. I was remodeling a house on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in Dallas, (not to far from Hardee's Barbecue, a place I heartily recommend but be prepared its SRO) and I was demolishing a 220 volt panel that served the old window a/c units. I found inside the mummified remains of a rat that had one leg on the ground lug and another on one of the hot lugs. Rat Flambe', yum... Anyway, see if you can get an electrician friend to look at it.

Anyway, we're thinking good thoughts for you.
