"Beware of Dog"

They have them for all kinds of dogs cats, ect.. And they have "I can make it to the fence...." "I can make it to the door...." "__(insert breed here)__ on guard" ect

I have a sticker in the front window that alerts the firemen but I can't remember exactly what it says.  If we aren't home and my dogs are inside or outside the burglars will hear them bark so I didn't think I needed to warn them. LOL I agree that a beware of dog sign is opening yourself to liability. 

 I don't like the ones that advertise your pedigree dog, to be honest.  Dog thefts are on the up.... But a "dogs running loose" sign is a great idea.  It could mean anything from "if you don't like dogs then don't enter" to "prepare to be covered in hair and slobber" to "please don't let the dogs out".  I really like the "I can make it to the gate in X seconds...." ones

I've wanted to make a sign that says "Be Aware of Dogs".  To me it says "hey we have dogs, um, just wanted ya to know"

I do have a sign that says "Property Patrolled by Papillon Security Services" or something like that.  I mean really, if you heard my guys at full bark, you'd think twice about coming onto my property.

 Oh gosh I love "don't let the dogs out no matter what they tell you!" one!  LOVE IT!  So need a sign like that.

I have seriously thought about taking a sharpie and writing "WILL LICK YOU TO DEATH!" or "COOKIE MONSTER!" underneith it.....

I just wonder though, if say I was to put up one that didn't say something like "caution" or "beware" and someone didn't take the sign as seriously as they should and entered anyway, what would happen?  Would I be even more at fault for not alerting people of the seriousness of the situation?

I have a sign on each of my gates that says "DOG ON PREMISES" in big orange letters. Doesn't say "beware" or "guard dog" or anything, mostly it's to deter anyone who'd get in my yard (though I really doubt they'd be bitten) to let workmen/mailman/meter guy/etc know to please not open my gate willy nilly and let my dogs out. I specifically picked one that had an imposing look without actually saying the dogs are imposing for legal reasons.

edit: I went to a gun show a month or so ago and they had some pretty darn funny signs. "Nevermind the dog, beware of owner!" and something like "CAUTION: DOG RETRIVES ANYTHING I SHOOT" obviously I didn't get them, but funny to look at.
