I have to go pick up the clay paw the vet made of Dakota. I'm dreading that.

Good thoughts headed your way, Julie.  That's got to be tough.

So, I was making rice in the microwave, and all of a sudden the microwave makes this horrendous sizzling noise, and then...POP!  It blew up.  Smoke everywhere, my house smells like burning plastic.  And I have no idea what happened.  What sucks is that the microwave is one of those built-in-above-the-stove jobbies, and I have no idea how I'm going to replace it...and I had no idea how dependent I was on the microwave!  Argh.  Maybe my home warranty covers it... :::dashes off to check:::

I swear he has an obsession with finding the perfect running shoe and our closet is busting at the seams.

Confession--I'm the same way.  I try to never wear the same pair two days in a row.  But, I do have my favorites.

I'm a flip-flop lover - even thou they kill my feet. I'm one of those idiots that wear them all year, even in snow. My close second is running/cross-trainers, followed by skate shoes, and then cowboy boots.

I guess I'm the odd one. I have one pair at work and one at home, and until I've worn them long enough that I start having pain from the lack of cushioning, I don't buy a new pair. I do always keep at least 1 or 2 old pairs for doing stuff other than exercising.

Seriously though, DH doesn't just have a few pairs. He likes one certain brand/style but the guy at the sporting goods store told him they were discontinuing them, so he bought 2 or 3 pair. Then he saw an online special for a different kind, but you had to buy 3 pair to get the good discount, so he did. I'd be thrilled if those 6 were all that he had, but this kind of thing has been going on for a long time Super Angry

Belle said she would like to help you clean out the shoe closet too!

Seriously, my DH has quite a few pairs, he buys two or three when he finds them on sale at NB.  He never, never throws away or gives away the old ones.  When I ask him why he is keeping them, his answer is they are for work (he means like yard work) and I say how many years would it take you to use up all these shoes with the little amount of yard work you do?  He mumbles some reply and walks off.  He checks the bags when I am loading up for Goodwill.  He knows I will give some away otherwise.  What he doesn't know, maybe, is that I sneak a few out when he isn't around.

Meg, no guy advice except where there is a will there is a way!  Ten miles on a bicycle isn't that bad, meet in the middle I say!

Ha-ha, that's tempting. I'd never get away with tossing any of them but DH loves dogs and probably wouldn't be super duper mad if a few were eaten up..hmmmmmm Wink

Yepp - always an issue. I swear, if this one wasn't so dang cute, and such a sweetheart, and have my attention for a solid year(EVEN while I was dating that jerk I was with) - I'd say forget him. But something about this boy is making me hold on - maybe it's my need to be wanted/needed.......

Well then you will find a way and hopefully he is feeling the attraction.  Life takes some strange turns, you never know what tomorrow will bring and it might just be this guy.  I'd try staying in touch in some way and see what happens.  But don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for other possibilities.  And most of us want to be wanted and needed.  Nothing unusual about that as long as they want you for the right reasons and the needing doesn't attract the chronically "in need" type of guy.  Those are not fun at all and rarely make good long term relationships if that's what you are looking for.

I think he started the attraction - so hopefully he can keep it. He always comes up to me, he always stays with me at these parties - maybe it's because of our close age, but then again I think it's because he likes me....but I have been wrong before.

My Mom, and many others at that dinner, informed me that he had been straight faced all day at the Open House, and apparently as soon as I show up at the dinner that night - he went to mush. Which is so cute. He's not 'needy' he's like confident, and teen-ager-ish. Ya know? I'm thinking I may just have to go to a few more events....haha....or bring a pen on New Years!

JJ is just like that!!! Every 5-6 months he buys new tennis shoes. He actually needs to since he wears shoes out quickly. But he just doesnt know how to throw the old ones away!!

Mine would do the same thing. Not long ago, I tried to give away a pair of cowboy boots that he's had since before I met him (10 yrs ago) and has never once worn. He's so not a cowboy boot kind of guy, so I have no idea why he's hanging on to them, but he wouldn't let me give them away. I personally can't really enjoy buying new stuff when my closet it overflowing, so giving stuff away frees up room for me to go shopping Big Smile
