    Mindless Chatter - Monday

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Yesterday was so pretty. It was snowing big fluffy soft flakes all day. Gorgeous! Of course, I wasn't thinking it was so gorgeous when I slipped off the step from my garage and twisted my foot! Time to get some de-icer, I guess.

I spent most of this weekend at the Pet Expo. I spent a lot of money there too but I got Neiko a new waterproof crate bed (which he LOVES), a bunch of gormet treats and a few other things. One of which I'm going to send to my secret santa! :)

My main purpose for going there was to try Neiko at dock jumping. I got him to jump during practice, so I figured, ok I'll sign him up for the competition. I paid my $15 and when it was our turn to go, Neiko refused. ha. Doesn't that figure? He just stood at the end and barked at me like a mad dog. Ann even tried to help by holding Neiko while I got him all riled up for his frisbee and he RAN ran ran to the edge and stopped. Doh. Oh well. I will have to try him outdoors when we can jump off a much lower to the water dock. This one had quite a drop off.

I had my niece with me and she got bored of watching us fail so we decided to walk around instead of trying Neiko again. She really enjoyed the show, she got her picture taken with about 5 exotic birds (bird rescue) on her, she got to pet all of the dogs, flying squirrels, reptiles, etc. Then she spent the night at my house and I took her home the next day. It was a blessing to have her because she really cheered me up (which I needed badly). I always have such a good time with my nieces. They are so very sweet and I love them to death.

I have to go pick up the clay paw the vet made of Dakota. I'm dreading that.

I took the dogs for a run on one of our hiking trails yesterday.  I think that 5 miles was a little too much, because my legs are killing me this morning.  On an upnote, Bev handled the run like a champ.  He's up & ready to go again.

    Sad - I'm sorry.

It sounds like an interesting time trying to get Neiko to jump but I'm betting that if you were actually in the water and somebody thru something to you, he'd go flying off the deck Wink

I'm off today and planning to enjoy every minute of it. We broke a record for high temp yesterday (77) and it's supposed to be 75 today - yay! It's going to get steadily cooler each day after this though, so I'm going to take advantage of it today and do some puttering in the yard.

    I sold my camera!!! YAY!!!

This morning I posted three messages on the board at work: 1) my camera 2) I'm looking for a Target coupon and 3) a phone we need to sell.  So far someone bought my camera and someone else has the coupon I need and is mailing it to me.  Now I just need to sell the phone DH erroneously bought.

Isnt it funny that no matter how much stuff we have to do or how much time we do or dont have we always manage to get on Idog?!!!

Anyone every try to write a post with a 35lb 5 month old pup who is convinced he can still fit in your lap? It's not easy!!!! Joker has half his body in my lap and trying hard to get the other half up here.

LOL. Rupert still sits in my lap. He's 48.5 lbs.

Someone sent me a link to this video. It's pretty funny. It's a parody; a foreign film with fake subtitles.

I'm still in a I-don't-know-what'cha-call-it over a guy! OMG! For real. I am at a loss. ron2 has given me some advice, but I still am on the losing end. I'm supposed to be doing school work....but I'm not. Gosh I can't wait for January when I can go back to school! I'll miss talking to you guys all day, but I miss having a real-life person they're to explain this crap. I've basicly decided on Vet Tech for my college, along with some grooming classes and after that a baking class or four. LOL! Can't wait! Only 1 more year(I hope)!

I didn't know Dakota had passed, I must've been away, then. I'm so sorry to hear, Jewliee.

It figures, AFTER we came back from vacation, I got my deductible refunded to me from my accident in July! Whoo-hoo, $500 big ones! I think I might have Pirate go in to meet his new vet, and have them do bloodwork and a dental while I have the $$. His teeth are pretty icky, and he hasn't had any bloodwork done in a while.

BF's grandmother tried to usurp Thanksgiving Saturday from me. I always work on Thursday, so BF goes to his mom's side, and then I cook for BF's dad's side and my family and friends on Saturday. Really it's just family dramatics, since one aunt doesn't want to drive **ALL THE WAY HERE**, and my house is two exits on the interstate past BF's grandma's. BF's mom and Dad said that they didn't care what anyone else was doing, that they'd be at my house. Neener.

Well, I'm on my second iced coffee.  I'm just in a mood, ugh, I'm very irritable and it's not even that time, LOL!  It's working six days a week, I just can't do it.  I look at this house and there is so much to be done, shopping to do, I can't even think about holiday stuff.

I took Willow for her blood test this morning and if her platelets are good they will be reducing her Prednisone again.  There's this tech, Luis, he loves her, she growls when she sees him coming and he still pets her.  She doesn't know what to make of that.

I walked my usual route at the park today.  I try to do an hour a day of walking.

I've got to loose this mood though before work!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good for you Lori. Many people would forego the walk when they're stressed out with too much to do, but it ultimately makes you feel worse if you skip it. I should take a cue from you and go do the same thing.

It's a good thing that DH is working today. I just noticed that he'd bought yet more running shoes. I swear he has an obsession with finding the perfect running shoe and our closet is busting at the seams. He's also a pack rat and I'm the complete opposite. Ugh - it makes my "must clean...must organize" tendencies go nutso.

I'm sitting here waiting for the guy from Greiners Heating/AC to call and then come by.  For $11.95 a month I get a complete cleaning and tune-up on the heater in the fall and the AC in the spring, and if anything ever needs fixing I get it done for a much reduced price for being an on-going maintenance customer.  That sounded like a pretty good deal to me and I really don't miss the $11.95 every month.  It's just something else to remember to deduct. Smile

Cathy repeat after me...."There is no such thing as too many running shoes."

Karen, our neighbors like to let their cats roam too.  Our dogs are funny.  They love our cat, & he goes out in the yard with them without issue, but if another cat comes in the yard, things head south quickly.  If I am outside, then I can call the dogs back, but if I'm not out, then I wish the cat the best.  Shooter, Bevo, & Chyna aren't very accepting of small furry animals in their yard.
