    Buying off Ebay

I'm looking for a new collar for Sandy as it turns out she's allergic to the one I got her.. She scratches uncontrollable when it's on.  She's used to wearing collars so I know thats not it. I've noticed her skin getting irritated when I put it on her to take her out. So now she's running nekkid around the house.

My petstore here doesn't have that large of a selection of collars so I thought I'd go to Ebay. Now I've bought video games and movies off there but never dog supplies.

How was your experience buying off there and any suggestions or a seller you would recommend. THANKS! And when I do find the one for her, I'll be sure to get pictures of her modeling the new collar.

I just bought Cruiser a snowflake collar on Ebay.  I haven't recieved it yet, but it looks from the picture like it's great quality and the seller has perfect feedback.    I can pm you the sellers ebay name if you want.

That would be great! All I'm finding on Ebay are leather spiked collars for little dogs.. Lol.

To leave on or just to walk her?

What is the collar you're using made of?

Annnd I really like the seller pawsnpay, but she only makes martingales. They're perfect for walking, but not good for leaving on (hers are all in ones, so yeah...).

To leave on her. Her walking is fine, doesn't pull. Just has the itchies when the collar is on..

I think the collar is made of nylon but I'm not sure. It's a reflective one. I'll have to take a picture. Lol.

What was the old collar made of?

If I leave a collar on Emma, she gets bald spots on her neck. I gave up, years ago (I did try, when she was a puppy, but then Toby got his caught on the crate, and she got a foot stuck in hers, and that perpetual bald spot... I took it off).

Ena wears a satin collar, and that's super comfortable. It's made by Sporn. Very smooth, against her neck. I think my fav on Emma is rolled leather.

Ohh! I was looking at my newest Groomer to Groomer, and saw an ad, and remembered how nice they are....

Look up Spiffy Dog Air Collars. They're super lightweight mesh, quick drying coolness. They come in buckle or martingale style. I've been eyeballing them for Emma, who has a zillion and one collars already.

Oooohhh, those look nice (just googled it).   The quick drying feature would be perfect for Sophie, she loves the water and with her long hair holding so much water collars can get nasty fast.

For my water dogs, we use the plastic-covered nylon that many hunters use: http://www.billboatmancoinc.com/ - scroll down and you'll see a picture.  Mine are jewel-colored, emerald green, aquamarine, sapphire blue, etc - so they don't scream "working dog" quite so much.

But, funny you should mention the spiky collars.  After years of putting it off, I finally got Tully a spiky collar.  I kept hoping to find another one like his dad had - reflective and spiky both - but I never did.  Then it became impossible to find anything but huge black ugly things in the stores, that cost $40!  I went on Ebay and there was an attractive, narrower, red colored collar with the spikes, for just $12 with the shipping.

And look, there was a PINK one for Miss Minnie, for the same!  I had an instant vision of Min "pretty in pink" and my fingers grabbed my VISA completely involuntarily and I just got the collars Friday.  They look very nice - I hope the colors don't fade in all the icky weather they will have to withstand but for $12 I'm not sure I can hope for that.

I've only bought stuff on E-Bay maybe half a dozen times but I've been happy with the results each time.  One time the socks didn't fit but to be honest all the reviews SAID the sock sizes were way too small.
