    Do you wear pumps barefoot?

See thread title.  I am very very limited in the shoes I can wear b/c of arthritis in my foot so I do not own pumps, boots (well I have muck boots!), or flats.  I do have two pairs of heeled sandals but they are not appropriate given the weather conditions.  I have an interview today and borrowed some pumps from a friend (I'm wearing very nice pants the kind you wear with heels, a blousy type shirt, and a nice jacket).

If you have trouser socks or knee highs I recommend wearing them with it. It is a lot more comfortable that way and I think it looks more professional.

What are trouser socks?  I have some really nice dark brown socks (the pumps are brown).  They are kind of thin, sleek material, but not opaque/see through at all.  I would actually like to wear something b/c the shoes are a tad too big.

If the socks are very thin, they will work, sometimes I notice if socks are too thick, it makes the shoes very uncomfortable.  If all else fails though, yuo can't go wrong with some light knee highs

Trouser socks are like knee-highs, but come in different colors and patterns.  Think tights cut off to fit below the knee - they're usually nylon material, some thicker than others.

And pumps barefoot are too casual, esp. if your shoes and pants are dark.  You'll get a sleek look being one color all the way down (brown pants, brown socks, brown shoes).  Makes you look taller, too.

No.  I can't wear any shoes barefoot.  Even flip flops give me blisters after a short time.  It's very frustrating in the summer.  Given they're borrowed, I'd pop on a pair of knee highs.

    Good luck on the interview!

OMG I don't think I've ever owned knee highs, lol.  I'm at work right now in baggy jeans and a hoodie.

I'm not a fan of knee highs myself but just for today, it'd probably be a good idea and they're cheap and you can pick up a pair at almost any drugstore. Good luck with the interview!

True that, no time though.  I'm working right now, had to drop DH off this morning b/c my car has no brakes (in the shop).  No car yesterday since I got in it and couldn't stop so I couldn't get any shopping done, including getting myself some of my OWN shoes, lol.  Luckily my friend has some shoes that fit well enough and she's been giving me rides.  I am swamped and somehow have to sneak off work early to go home and change before 2pm.  Ah!  Oh well, it's pants and the shoes are close-toed, they won't see my socks (same color as the shoes).  I know 2/3s of the people already.

I don't think i've ever worn anything with pumps, but a thin pair of hose underneath would be fine. i would stay away from socks, personally.

    Good luck at your interview!!

I wear knee-high stockings to work with my dress pants and dress flats. They're quite comfortable for me to wear, and make my feet feel much better than when I go barefoot in the same shoes. The main problem is that they make my feet "slidey," so if the shoes don't fit that well, the extra movement of the shoe over the foot can contribute to rubs. (But I still get much worse blisters with no socks than with nylons.)
